Times Square - Entertainment

Big Tickets

"42nd Street"
If you believe the two most beautiful words in the English language are "musical comedy" then shuffle off to Times Square.

"Aida"
A couple of middle-aged British songwriters turn Verdi's opera into a toe-tapping, dollar-sapping mega-musical.

B.B. King Blues Club & Grill
The restaurant and club has live performances every night and special performances during some afternoons.

"Beauty and the Beast"
As if redecorating Times Square wasn't bold enough, with this animated fairytale, Disney took over Broadway.

"Cabaret"
Studio 54 is the appropriate place to watch the seedy saturnalia of post-war Berlin transform.

"Chicago"
If there's one thing that's more appealing than cheap cynicism, it's expensive, glitzy, well-packaged cynicism.

"Contact"
Filled with unexpected plot twists and character deceptions, the carefully constructed puzzle written by John Weidman is enchanting.

"Jekyll & Hyde"
Despite negative reaction from the critics, this campy musical has won a loyal following on Broadway.

"Kiss Me, Kate"
If you think you're resistant to the charms of the traditional musical, you'll miss two rapturous hours that mean little but feel incredibly good.

"Les Miserables"
A spectacular show with all the right ingredients, including an impressive rotating set, a romantic plot and touching, catchy music.

"The Lion King"
Elephants march down the aisle, giraffes lope across the stage, gazelles leap and beasts stampede. The visually stunning puppets and masks co-created by director Julie Taymor will transport you to the African plains.

"The Phantom of the Opera"
A creaky old warhorse retains the power to charm.

"Rent"
Centering on an aspiring filmmaker and an HIV-positive songwriter, the convoluted plot traces their attempts to find fame, fortune and love—without selling out.

Fun and Games

ESPN Zone
For all the sports enthusiasts crowding Times Square, this is Shangri-La.

Bar Code
The technicolor, theme-park ambience meshes well with its setting.

Broadway City Arcade
Broadway lights, arcade games, virtual reality simulators, high-tech digital video games and classic midway amusements.

Leisure Time Recreation Bowling Center
In this sprawling, suburban-style center, you might forget that you're still within the confines of the city.

Lazer Park
A place to drop the kids off while you wander around Times Square (or for indulging the kid in yourself).

Madame Tussaud's New York
Tussaud's eerily-lifelike figures give new meaning to "cloning."

E Walk
It aims to be the "lighthouse that marks the entrance of the Times Square district."

Movie Theaters

Loews 42nd Street E-Walk
This multi-screen movie house is but one component of a multimedia entertainment megaplex.

Loews State Theater
A movie house showing art films and second-run hits in the heart of the Theater District.

AMC Empire 25
The big new kid on the block in midtown towers over all the others, hosting both huge Hollywood extravaganzas and art-house fare.
