As Americans, we're entitled to a few things: life, liberty and the pursuit of happy hour, for starters. Discounts AND cocktails? Sign us up, but what good is a happy hour if youre still chained to your desk? Here's some news that's sure to put a spring in your drunken step: Happy hour in New York doesn't just happen from 5pm to 7pm. We've got five spots with drink deals that run when the rest of us are out (late!)

With a cocktail menu that features six different types of mojitos (not to mention an assortment of sangrias, caipirinhas and margaritas), this Cuban tapas bar on the Bowery is a go-to spot for vibrant drinks in a vibrant setting. And we do mean "drinks," plural, because in order to get the most booze for your buck, you'll need to have more than one. Thursday through Saturday from 8pm to 10pm, take advantage of the $20 all-you-can-drink special on mojitos, sangrias and draft beers. And if youre still standing after that (or if you get a late start), there's also a buy-one-get-one special on all drinks offered Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm 'til closing. With deals like these, that whole Cuban embargo thing sure seems silly.

Happy hour doesnt have to mean downing well drinks and cheap beer alongside tequila-swilling undergrads. Japanese hip-hop and punk music reverberate throughout this cozy, dimly lit Chelsea spot, which offers $5 sake shots and $20 off select bottles of sake and shochu every Thursday through Saturday from 10pm to 3am. Tables equipped with dark wooden stools make it a perfect space for a group, while small, candle-lit booths lend intimacy to dates. For the solo drinker, the concrete bar in back is the perfect place to indulge alone.
Revival

This unassuming Union Square bar's charming backyard is one of the neighborhood's best kept secrets; its late-night happy hour is another. From 10pm to 12am on Monday through Thursday, the cozy, bi-level dive slings an assortment of discounted drinks--like $4 bottled beers and well drinks, and $5 hard cider, draught beer and wine--to a crowd comprised of locals, film students and off-Broadway actor-types. The garden is blissful for warm-weather sipping, but at these prices, Revival is a perfect low-key spot for affordable pre-gaming year-round.

The nightly drink specials--$5 well drinks, $6 house wines, $7 cosmos, and rotating shot and beer deals--start at midnight and run 'til last call at this unpretentious bar that's sure to satisfy the lush night owl. Plop down in one of the booths that line the large, industrial-like space, or perch at the long bar to watch the game and chat up the friendly bartenders. On the weekends, a way-beyond-tipsy, 20-something crowd dances to Top 40 hits in search of prospective hookups. Hey, it may not be sophisticated, but with the happy hour deals until 4am, who cares?

Saving money doesn't mean you have to slum it, and the proof is in the pudding--or rather, the cocktail. This sophisticated wine bar-cum-restaurant (carpaccio and foie gras, anyone?) takes the notion of happy hour to the extreme, offering a free cocktail to every patron between 11pm and 2am, Sunday through Thursday. But remember: Beggars can't be choosers, and the complimentary cocktail of the evening is pre-selected by the bartenders. Reservations are required to take advantage of the deal, but there's no food purchase necessary--just sip, tip, and dip on out.
