“For summer we love the idea of negotiating the hot sticky weather with frigid office temperatures by layering,” says Joanna Drescher, store manager for this charming Brooklyn boutique. Her suggestions? Simple tanks and camis topped off with lightweight knits from Isabel Marant or A.P.C. that can be “easily tossed off later in the evening to beat the heat for drinks or dinner outside.”

“For office wear, you can’t go wrong with a blouse tucked into a skirt,” says Sameena Ahmad, head of press relations, as she extols the virtues of designer Wendy Mullin’s many summer-friendly pieces. She endorses a smart cotton belted miniskirt. “It’s great because it can be dressed up or it can be dressed down.” She also recommends a silk floral dress and a tiered V-neck dress made with a striped shirting fabric, “kind of like a twist on a classic pinstripe shirt.”
