Arguably THE biggest event in the city each year, the New York City Marathon is not to be missed. Best place to watch is in the southwest corner of Central Park where runners reach the home stretch of the race. This year's race is Sunday, November 1 but it's not too late to volunteer if you'd rather be part of the experience - without the running. There are plenty of opportunities to to lend a hand such as passing out Mylar blankets to runners after the race to passing out Gatorade to runners throughout the course. Whether you're volunteering or just people watching, with more than 100 live bands throughout the course you'll be sure to stay entertained.
