St. Paddy's Day is Tuesday, March 17, which means it's time to call in sick, put on your finest greenery, and get ready to party. Hit the parade, or grab a pint of Guinness, and if you're not Irish, don't sweat it--if you drink enough Jameson, you'll feel like you are.

Tir Na Nog
Read Reviews5 Penn Plz, New York, NY 10001 (map)
This Irish pub and resto takes its name from the Gaelic phrase meaning "land of eternal youth," and although Penn Plaza doesn't exactly summon images of carefree frolicking, that's the beauty of beer goggles: After a few pints of Guinness, everyone is young and attractive! Seriously. It's more magical than Botox.

McSorley's Old Ale House
Read Reviews15 E 7th St, New York, NY 10003 (map)
One of New York's oldest pubs always draws a crowd, but on St. Paddy's Day it's sheer madness (in the fun, drunken sense). Get there early to avoid a line, and leave your high-maintenance friends at home; there are only two beer choices here (McSorley's Light and McSorley's Dark), and it's been that way since the 19th century.

Swift
Read Reviews34 E 4TH St, New York, NY 10003 (map)
This popular East Village bar turns out quality tunes and pints, all while paying homage to its Irish roots: The church-pew booths, wall mural, and antique tables and bars all pay homage to Irish literary great Jonathan Swift. And if you liked reading "Gulliver's Travels," you'll absolutely LOVE getting drunk in a bar that is vaguely connected to the dead guy who wrote it on St. Patrick's Day.

Puck Fair
Read Reviews298 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10012 (map)
It doesn't need to be St. Patrick's Day for a mob of thirsty downtowners to turn up at this cavernous bar in search of fun--but it doesn't hurt. Neither does the astounding selection of booze: Puck Fair stocks nearly 20 varieties of Irish whiskey and twice as many single malts Scotches. Finally, you can find out just how many glasses of Jameson it takes to start hallucinating leprechauns.

Paddy Reilly's Music Bar
Read Reviews519 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10016 (map)
What's not to love about a bar that boasts five--count 'em--Guinness taps and a "bring your own darts" dart board? Sample each tap (just in case), and celebrate the holiday with live music performed by Mickey Finns and Tony McDermott in honor of the patron saint.

Molly's
Read Reviews287 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10010 (map)
Considered by many to be the finest Irish pub in Manhattan, this Gramercy spot will be packed to the wings on St. Paddy's Day (and St. Paddy's night, for that matter). Arrive while everyone else is at the parade, scope out a spot near the fireplace and order one of Molly's mighty 10-ounce burgers; then proceed to chase beer with Scotch 'til you're catatonic. Best. Tuesday. Ever.

Spike Hill

No one needs a pot of gold more than a Williamsburg hipster (except maybe a Wall Street banker, but that's a different story ...), and this local Irish pub is happy to accommodate. So come on, skinny-jeans set! It's the one day of the year when that ironic "Kiss me, I'm Irish" button on your old-school JanSport backpack might actually get you a kiss!
