Big Nick's Burger and Pizza Joint

You might recognize this Upper West Side mainstay from "The Late Show with David Letterman," but it hardly needs the funny man's endorsement. The menu--which boasts a dazzling selection of fare, from burgers and pizza to baked ziti and steaks--speaks for itself. And though it's not a full-fledged 24-hour spot (the restaurant closes daily between 5am and 6am), you've still got plenty of time to get your fix of Nick's.
Cafeteria

Some of the menu items--like meatloaf and fried chicken--might make this Chelsea hot spot sound like an actual cafeteria. But the table waits (upwards of an hour, even at 4am), food quality and high prices will quickly remind you where you are.
City Diner

This large, bustling Upper West Side diner always seems to have a decent crowd, even at 3am on a Monday night. In the tradition of classic Greek diners, portions are monstrously large and the menu itself is longer than some novels. But anyone looking to cap off the night (or kick off the dawn) can appreciate a long list of burgers, sandwiches, eggs and mozzarella sticks.

French Roast Uptown

The vibe at this breezy Upper West Side spot is reminiscent of a lively Parisian bistro, so it's no surprise that the food--think onion soup, croque monsieur, steak au poivre--leans toward traditional French. Additionally, there's a selection of burgers, salads and sandwiches that will appeal to anyone with an appetite. And for those who like to eat at bizarre hours, it's a lovely alternative to the typical late-night diner options.
