“Huge screens, very comfortable seats, very friendly service, and clean bathrooms.”
“...atm, food and the location is perfect.”
“They have one of the biggest selections of movies compared to other theaters and the actual theaters are comfortable and big.”
“This theater is located in the best place in town.”
“Almosty all the time, your movie is ruined by loud, rude, and obnoxious people who would rather talk and have fun then to sit quietly and watch a movie.”
“there food is priced regular as in every theater, best thing to try is pretzels with cheese delicious and affordable.”
Machines to buy the tickets - no
humans. You can be standing in line for a while, get to a machine that takes your ticket order, and then it tells you it cant print! You have to get back on another line hoping that machine prints your ticket! the automated process really sucks.
There are actual humans behind the food counters, but they move with the speed of an unmotivated $8 an hour employee. The food lines are always ~10 minutes of waiting.
Finally, the bathrooms are very very small and if you go right after a show ends you will wait on a sizable line.
In summary, the movie better provide for a great experience because the theater and customer engagement/service is miserable.
WORST THEATER! FILTHY, DIRTY, UNWELCOME!.
FILTHY, NASTY, AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.
THERE ARE SOME THEATER SMELLS LIKE SOMEONE JUST THOREW UP, FLOORS ARE STICKY, JUICE EVERYWHERE, SEATS ARE DIRTY, BATHROOM ARE DIRTY OF COURSE, WORKERS SEEMS DON'T CARE ANYTHING,AND DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS.
GRREAT LOCATION WITH WORST OF WORST! NEED NEW MANAGEMENT AND FULL STAFF CHANGE.
Decent Place to See a Movie. I went here with my friends to see a movie a couple weeks ago. Except for the folks talking a few seats behind us, it was a nice time and we'll be going back soon.
$4 AMC Gold Experience™ Movie Tickets. hey, just saw a new site called dealsurf that aggregates all the daily deals in one place. I found $4 AMC Gold Experience™ Movie Tickets. This is so cool!
Our first taste of NYC. My girlfriend and i went to NYC for the weekend. Our first stop was the AMC movie theater. We arrived 5 minutes before our movie was scheduled to start and thought we would have to stand in a long line to get tickets but the self checkout machines in the lobby put an end to that fear. next we traveled up 3 huge(!!!!)escalators to get to the theater. If anything set me back about this theater it was the escalators and how high up we had to go to get to the theater. before 9/11 i dont think i would have been as worried but all through the movie i kept worrying if something were to happen how would all of us fit down such a narrow escalator. maybe there was a fire escape... i didnt see one... but maybe thats how we would have gotten out of there. but that was my only worry. Our first intereaction with a real new yorkian was quite a shock. I had heard how angry and short tempered new yorkers are but no it was quite the opposite. when we went to get nachos for the show the guy was very patient and helpful. the show was great and my biggest relief was getting out of the theater alive, lol. overall it was a good experience the staff was friendly and if heights dont bother you than i guess the 11 floors is a plus. i would have preferred to be a little closer to the ground however. another thing i liked about this theater was the huge portions of nachos. midway through the show i still had nachos left! in philly the nachos are gone when the previews are over.
RE abbekommen's review.
abbekommen's mistake was not realizing that when you go to movies specifically made for the dumbest people on the planet (i,e., SAW 5), you must expect to sit next to the dumbest people on the planet.
I regularly go to AMC 25 and rarely have problems -- but then again, I don't go to see slasher movies or other such fare. Tonight, for example, i will be seeing Doubt. I Doubt if anyone like abbekommen's friend is going to show up for that film.
ONE NIGHT OF RACISM AT THE AMC TIMES SQUARE. My girlfriend and I wanted to see a movie, she suggested SAW 5 since it was Halloween. The Times Square AMC was the only place showing the movie. We got our tickets early in order to get good seats. We sat down and right before the movie started in walked a thug with his girlfriend, shooting his mouth off, telling people to get up out of their seats so they could have them. He ended up sitting right beside us, and proceeded to take his timberland construction style boots off and smell up the entire area with his feet. We would have moved but the movie had started. His girlfriend repeatedly answered her phone throughout the movie after it started. Suddenly, out of nowhere about 2/3rds into the film he decided to slam his elbow into my face, and then backhand me for no reason at all!! I never even had words with him or gave him any dirty looks for his prior behavior, even though he deserved it. I looked at him and said "What the hell are you doing??!!" He acted half asleep and said "aw, yo, sorry, I wuz sleepin, huh wha you sayin yo?" I looked at his girlfriend (who looked pregnant) and she looked back at me and said "too bad, watch yo damn movie an shut up" I sprang up and went out into the lobby to get security. They called security over and no sooner then did the thug and his girl came out of the theater we were in, saying "whats going own, we do kno wha is goin own?!?!" I said "then how did you know to come outside at this very moment?" The security there at AMC were about half a dozen large angry looking black men, who said "the police have been called" but when they saw that he was black like they were, they then took a different stance and treated me (white guy) like I was the perp instead of the victim. If you want to hear the rest of this true event, and you won't believe it, check out the full posting of the incident I have up on craigslist community general bulletin boards online. Never again a patron of AMC.
great to watch movies and smoke. I love it, I go there a lot, I take my friends and they love it too because they can smoke at the balcony.
Nice Movie theatre. I went there as I work in a law firm right around the corner on 42nd street and it's very convenient for me, and I went on a Friday, late like after 12am and I love it. I love the screen, you can sit up front and it's not like you are looking straight up like the Regal. I don't eat there but I just go there order my ticket online go swipe my credit card and it works for me. I haven't had a problem with it. Love it.
great, but bad, un-maintained ticketing machines. The theater in general is great: the seating, legroom and space is plentiful and their projectors are state of the art, but one of the biggest problems is how to get your tickets. Since it is right in the middle of the tourist haven of times square, it will invariably be packed at any given moment, and the automated kiosks - from where you can get your pre-paid tickets or regular tickets - never ever work. They are worse than the MTA card machines. I tried all of them last night, and so did everyone else. They are obviously over-used while not being maintained at all. This forces you to get in the long line like everyone else and risk missing the beginning of your movie. So, like with any other theater in NYC, get there early.
