This legendary bar and music venue is still going strong. The same bands that end up selling out larger and trendier venues in the city (Bowery Ballroom, NorthSix, Brownies, etc.) invariably end up playing here either just before or after their gig in the city. The difference is, you'll often be able to get in to see them here. The Hoboken address still freaks out enough city-dwellers to give people willing to make a 5-minute PATH trip and a 10-12 minute walk a chance of seeing great bands in a tiny little space. The front bar and restaurant are always good for hanging out in before a show. And the back room were bands perform is a great space for live music. It's just a tiny black box, but the sound is good and the intimacy often inspires a huge amount of energy tin the performers and the crowd.
