i cant believe this place is still in business!. and I can testify as a former employee that the bad reviews here are valid - the food is cheaply made - the kitchen is filthy - the staff are overworked and treated like garbage. Horrible place - you are better off going to Bubba Gump or Planet Hollywood if you want that kind of Times Square experience.

mars in nyc. went here with my mother and my cousin as i like to go to themed restaurants. The decor was nice and really could make someone feel like they were at mars but everything has its price to pay. The food was overprice and our wait time was ASTRONOMICAL. They had us waiting in the game area for at least 40 minutes before they sat us, which they did not tell us about, which had my mother extremely agitated.

Okay. I've been here 4 times and I don't think I'll be back. When you first go in, you pay the $2 or $3 dollar entertainment fee for the "spaceship" that takes you to the restaurant. The first two times I went it was working and was pretty fun! The other two times it was not working and we still had to paid the fee. The service is okay. They have some mars characters walking around that interact with kids. The first time we went they did some dancing and that was pretty great! The first time (back in 2006) and the last time I went (in 2011) were the better times. Service was pretty good... very friendly, attentive but not overly. The two middle times I went weren't so good. They took my order wrong. I asked for chicken parm and they gave me a fish sandwich. I ate it anyways since I work in food business and I know what it's like but either way I didn't order that. It was pretty good however. The menu is also way too short and overpriced. The waiters also vanished afterwards. The last 3 times I've been there NOBODY was there.... not a single tourist in sight. However, if Brad Pitt is in town, you might want to go here. Brad Pitt is ALWAYS here with his kids. If you plan to go, I also recommend the frozen lemonade - excellent!

Dissapointment. The prices are high for no reason . . you can get better quality food in your local diner or grocery store.

DO NOT LAND ON MARS!. I wish I'd read the other reviews on here before going there! I didn't know there was a $2/person admission fee! Who pays an admission fee to go to a restaurant? The space ride was fun for the kids but not a big deal overall.

The restaurant looked so cool online...it's a bit tired looking in person. The paint on the ceiling above us was chipping. My feet stuck to the carpeting and then the concrete stairs as I took my daughter to the bathroom (which wasn't very clean).

I thought my burger was good but my husband hated the fries and said the chips in the nachos were stale.

Not all of the aliens were friendly. Two stopped by to have pictures taken, one waved and kept walking.

For the four of us, our bill was $98...I paid $98 plus tip for a bad meal and experience?! What was I thinking?! Fortunately we skipped dessert (had that at Dylan's Candy Bar...great place!).

If you want to go to a themed restaurant...DO NOT GO HERE!!! Stay as far away as you can!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I'M APPALLED AT HOW DISGUSTING AND EXPENSIVE THE FOOD IS. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. THERE IS NOT EVEN A CONTACT ON THEIR SITE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY...BETTER OFF EATING ANYWHERE BUT HERE. ITS SOOOO OVERATED AND WHO CHARGES 2 DOLLARS A PERSON FOR ADMISSION. TRUST ME, COSTCO'S FROZEN CHICKEN NUGGETS ARE GOURMET COMPARED TO WHAT THEY SERVE. I WAS RIPPED OFF AND I DEMAND AN APOLOGY AND A REFUND FROM THE OWNER. YOU ARE A FOOL IF YOU STILL GO.

Terrible! Waste of $$ and time!!!. Nothing was good at this place. Brought the kids there for a fun night and some decent food and didn't get either one! The place is dark... this is ALWAYS for a reason! It was cold in there too! The service was amateur at best, food was barely 'o.k.', the so-called 'ride' to get there was grossly dirty and the screen to watch the 'film' on was filthy... with a picture of the twin towers! now -come on! AND they charge $2 admission fee per person!!!! For what?!?!? Do NOT waste your time and $.... SOOO many other places to go that will provide the kids with plenty of entertainment and with good food! Giving it one star b/c I couldn't give zero!

waste of time & money. this place had a bad smell and was filthy but they keep it dark so you can't notice the dirt. and a long wait to get on the the spaceship ride that takes you up to the main part.
