This movie theater went legit and now houses Tony-eligible musicals and plays.. The Broadway originally opened as a cinema but was converted for stage productions in 1930. "Candide" and "Evita" both played here. Renovated for the production of "Miss Saigon"--which ran for over 10 years--this theater is one of New York's larger performance spaces and has the advantage of a sizable lobby.
