“People only visit for the good food but the absolute rudeness kills the mood together with my appetite.”
“The country duck is one of their most famous menu dishes.”
“Sure it's not much of a place, the waiters are not that friendly, but hey, it's $5 for a great meal!”
“suggest you better order a take out and make sure they supply the necessary sauce or dressing for the food you order before you hand them the money.”
When seeking pho, the rich noodle soup of Vietnam, a person in Chinatown has many choices, but mine is Bo Ky. There are so many things you can have in the soup, from fishballs to beef tendons, but the most important one is hot chile oil. Don't forget that!
This Chinatown favorite offers inspiring Vietnamese soups at remarkably low prices..
The Scene
Bo Ky is a Vietnamese no-frills noodle shop with some 30 different soups. Don't expect much ambiance--despite a recent expansion, you may be asked to sit with strangers, and you'll be served tea in styrofoam cups.
The Food
Outstanding soup choices include the chicken curry, which mixes egg noodles with eggplant, potatoes, and fresh lemon, all in a spicy coconut curry broth. Or belly up to the beef belly soup, made with wide chow fun noodles and a thick, beefy broth. Lighter broth soups are available with noodles and seafood, fish, duck, pork, or meat balls in almost any combination you can imagine. Although the menu lists barbecued duck and chicken dishes, you're better off sticking to the soups.
