A satellite space for a museum giant.. Opened in 1992, the Soho branch of the Guggenheim was created to put more of the museum's vast collection on view to the public. A 19th-century warehouse remodeled by Arata Isozaki, the new building has two floors of galleries that can be configured to complement the art that is shown in them. The Soho branch mounts shows from the museum's permanent collection and also sponsors independent exhibitions of art from outside the institution.
