The Scene
All that's delightful, bizarre, overwhelming and exhilarating about Chinatown convenes in the two floors of this hodgepodge market. A veritable shopping madhouse, the store's always crowded with shoppers snatching up bargains at breakneck speed, and who can blame them? Insiders know there's no place else in the neighborhood to get supermarket sundries, butcher counter goods, teas, candies, housewares, and herbal remedies all in one store.
The Goods
If you've dreamed of the food product, chances are it's in stock at the Kam Man Market. Spicy cow's stomach, pig ears, dried sea cucumbers and canned quail eggs are just a sampling of the wonders waiting for swashbuckling foodies. Giant glass jars of eel tail, edible birds' nests, ginseng and dried fungus may baffle westerners, but practitioners of Chinese medicine will appreciate the store's wide selection of such arcana. Not to be missed is the lower level's first rate selection of glazed Asian ceramic dishes and bowls. The prices may be steeper than at other vendors, but the selection can't be beat.

Visiting my son and his family in Brooklyn, took the 4 & B to Grand St., had a great time wandering around Chinatown. Loved this store, had everything I needed and lots of great cookware, teas and all kinds of seasonings. Enjoy.

For all of the things you can't find in Key Foods, Costco, or Safeway, come to Kam Man for the rest. It has many items for all things Asian. In fact, most people can't stop coming back for their awesome prices and incredible selection.

This is a great place to go for authentic chinese groceries. You shold check out their cutlery downstairs too. Bought a few knives and forks there. And they sell the best bubble tea packets and salted prunes. Try all of their sauces like Soy, Oyster and Hoisin. This is the real deal. Very affordable.
