I chose this place because I've always wanted a 'walk on your back massage' and this place specializes in it. After I checked in, the woman at the desk left me and my boyfriend alone to warm up the sauna, and then this very elderly Japanese man in a suit approached us. He started talking in VERY broken and incomprehensible English while he petted the cat that was sleeping on the front desk. Then, he stuck his thumbs into the cat's ears, trying to explain that the cat liked it, while the cat was screeching and eventually broke free. I thought this man was just a guest until, shortly after sitting down, he was escorted by the woman from the front desk into the steamroom with us. He brought in with him some large laminated posters with hand-drawn depictions of how the cold and hot baths help the body, so we tried not to freak out, but it was really strange to see a man in a suit with posters in a steamroom. He talked to us for about 10min, but we couldn't understand a thing he was saying, and there was too much steam in the room to see his posters. I think he was trying to say that the hot and cold baths help make giving birth easier, but it was lost in translation, and the only things I heard were "baby kick mommy", "mommy kick baby back" and then "mommy have abortion". He actually crawled up onto the highest bench and lay on his back to simulate child birth. We didn't see him again after he left, but even though he gave us something to laugh about for years to come, the experience definitely did not constitute relaxation. The place is small, but nice. There is one small locker room and the woman from the front desk walked in on us twice while we were undressing. No one there speaks English, only Japanese and they gave us no direction. Their walking on my back was PAINFUL. When they were by the back of my neck, they pressed so hard, it closed my trachea and I couldn't breath. Some parts were nice, but overall, not pleasurable. I will never come here again.

Pros: Small but stylish atmosphere.

Cons: Don't speak English, Strange Staff, Painful Massage, No Privacy.
