Masterpiece. Easily the most beautiful skyscraper in the world, the Chrysler punctuates the skyline with unequalled elegance. Great views of the magnificent spire can be seen a top the ESB. A classic.

Short Changed. The Empire State Building gets all the glory because it's (once again) the tallest building in New York City. But the Chrysler Building which reigned in terms of height for basically a year, and is still among the top 20 buildings in the world, is arguably the prettiest skyscraper to grace the Manhattan skyline. Built from 1928-30 and deemed a landmark in 1978, the building with the art deco gargoyles no longer makes its observatory available to the public. That's okay. I enjoy the view from the outside. Take a trip to the top of the Empire State Building if you want a telescopic view of the upper floors.
