Editorial Review for Boiler Room – by Ben Widdicombe
The Scene
The vibe manages to stay young without lapsing into attitude; a major achievement. College boys, cowboys, East Village freaks and the occasional disoriented leather daddy all seem to coexist peacefully in this dark and smoky bar. Make friends over the pool table, or in an amiable debate about what's next on the jukebox. Dilapidated vinyl sofas in the bar's shadowy recesses are a great place to relax alone or with company.
The Draw
One of the few gay bars with Bass and Fosters beer on tap as an alternative to the omnipresent bottled Rolling Rock. In addition, the bar features drink specials every day and night. There's also a large, disabled-friendly restroom you can lock and have to yourself--talk about luxury.

Popped in for a beer. It was a very bad experience. I like a good Happy Hour but this bar is sad. Watch your belongings and keep the mace out.
Pros: None
Cons: Crowd and Staff

USED to be a good bar. Unfortunately the staff & crowd has changed to the degree of unbearable. Angry/drugged up people that like to throw bar stools at people. Sorry - but there are too many GOOD bars to go to that you won't have to deal with a place like this.
Pros: None
Cons: Service & Crowd
