Worst New Year's Party Ever!

Everyone,

don't go to the world's fair marina for their new year's party. In 2008, it was just awful. My family wanted a nice atmosphere where we could spend time together, listen to good music and dance and have good food. We went to this party in 2007 and it was actually a good time so we decided to come back. I don't know what changed, but everything was awful.

Food was bad. That is the easy statement.

The DJ they picked was playing bad songs, none of the new top hits.

It was overcrowded with not enough places to sit and the dance floor could not accommodate everyone.

Here is the kicker. They served alcohol to just anyone and by midnight, there were way too many drunk people walking around. There was no sense of who is drinking too much, who is underage or any of that. And while most people don't it, it is in fact the responsibility of the establishment to monitor that.

As we were about to leave, one person through up all over my fiance. IT WAS DISGUSTING! Then after the ordeal of cleaning himself, the coat check people lost our coats. Of course they did, they overbooked! I went in there myself to find the coats and for a good TWENTY minutes, was looking. I was met by a few other guests who were looking for their coats! Pure disgrace.

When we tried to speak to the manager, all he could do is say that it is not his fault and even back to curse at my sister who was upset by this whole mess.

Guess what buddy. it is your fault.

People, do not go there!

For a party, for dinner, for an event, stay away.

• Cons: everything else if awful

Rude Behavior

I went to Marina based on the reviews I read here. I spoke to the manager and went in to see him. Because I had already explained what I wanted to the manager, I wanted to speak to him only. While waiting for him (he was with other customers), I was approached by someone and asked if I needed help, I politely told this person that I'm waiting for the manager. this person rudely said to me, "I'm the owner, you can speak to me, forget about the manager." I was so offended by his tone and manner that I decided not to have a party here. I mean i dont give a hoot if you're the owner. After seeing this kind of behavior towards a customer and towards their manager, I'm afraid how they will treat me if i decide to have a party here. All be advised the "owners" are rude, arrogant idiots.
