With red neon and trophies scattered everywhere, the decor is classic butch gay bar. Rec room paneling and brick--no fuss, no muss. You certainly won't find any ferns, and that's just the way this laid-back, friendly crowd likes it. The CD jukebox is heavy on the Led Zeppelin and the televisions are always on. There are peanuts up on the bar for snacking, but that's as far as the amenities extend. The two bathrooms in the rear of the bar, both marked gents, are a dead giveaway as to the boy-girl ratio, but women are welcome.

Wow

Check out The Dugout! I have always loved that place! From the staff to the motif it's a place that always makes me feel welcome and like I'm home. I suggest coming down to the end of the street...it's worth it! The Sunday beer blast is awesome...too many men to choose from! I also love the Friday MetroBear night. For you guys that like a real man, come and check these hotties out! i'll be there thi weekend, you should too!

Improvements being made, but the PRICES?

by beefyNYC

Okay, I applaud the new management at Dugout - very approachable and friendly, and willing to try new things, which the place has needed for a while.

However, I was astonished when the bartender said that a round of 4 mixed drinks would be $80. EIGHTY. DOLLARS. They weren't no-name brands, but EIGHTY DOLLARS? $20 for a vodka and OJ in a plastic cup? REALLY?

That's simply insane.

Also, the jukebox has GOT to go. If we have to spend one more night listening to that tired old queen's selections as he stands in front of the jukebox smirking, it'll be our last.

Beyond a Comeback!

by maxdewinter

Seems the new manager is listening to the customers. Drink specials, new nights, special events that actually sound like fun...I'm going back.

I had a great time this past Friday and Sunday night, met the new guy (a lifetime bear member with real cocktail expertise--Woo Hoo!) and I'm really looking forward to the "new" old favorite.

Just wondering what took so long? Welcome back Dugout!

  • Pros: Comfortable, friendly, cruisey, good prices, hot crowd
  • Cons: none anymore
