botanica rocks. I used to come here every week for happy hour on Thursdays. They let us playcard games and order pizza. If you want cheap beer and a chill dive bar, this is the place.

Won't see it on Sex in the City. Straddling Soho and the L.E.S. it combines these two neighborhood vibes while gently feeding your liver. One of the only bars in NYC that serves Pabst in a can ($2!). The best happy hour-just for the mixed crowd. Avoidable weekend nights, Botanica is best during the week. You may find yourself starting and ending your evening there. Service gets better the more you frequent it.

my two friends Jack & Coke. my friend and I are known to the bartenders as "Jack" and "Coke". cheap drinks, good music, great seating, no pretentious folks

It's cool. The service isn't that bad -- one of the bartenders is flaky to the point of distraction, but aside from that...a nice spot

Old standby. I would never plan to go here for an evening. But, if you're in the area, it's a good place to stop for a cheap drink. The decor is seriously lacking, but they often do have a good DJ.
