In Short – This small but busy restaurant is for sushi lovers on a budget who appreciate an all-you-can-eat sushi deal. Don't be shy, but keep in mind, whatever you don't finish you pay for. The list of offerings is heavy on the usual suspects, including tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, and eel. You'll also see a few offbeat numbers like scallops and mackerel.

Editor's Tips

  1. used to love coming to this plc for some good no fuss sushi despite the long wait and honestly, not so spectacular service.
  2. great value - good food
  3. Great value and great quality sushi.
  4. Fish is so very fresh.
  5. The sushi chefs are very friendly.
  6. Incomparable to other Japanese Restaurants they offer friendly service and a wide variety of fishes sliced ever so nicely to make your sushi experience something to remember.
  7. have never had such a bad experience after eating lots of sushi in the last 20 years.
  8. Despite my disbelief that for $18 one can get a decent sushi, my friend insisted that it is good.
  9. Great food, and not expensive.
  10. Refreshing to see something on the upper east side that won't break the bank - Yuka is a great sushi place - fresh fish, VERY REASONABLY PRICED, and quick if you call to pick up.
  11. Great sushi at a great price
  12. There is always a wait for tables at the restaurant - but hey - thats what happens with good food!
  13. Despite a slightly limited menu, everything prepared is done to perfection, ultra fresh and a work of food art.
  14. am totally crazy about the spicy salmon roll with fresh salmos, the sauce is awesome and they put fresh herbs in it.
  15. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, the staff is friendly and their fish is fresh and well prepared.
  16. sashimi was meh, salmon was good but the tuna was a little white and seemed like the day before as the flavor had faded.
  17. really enjoyed thier great AYCE sushi.
  18. Very fresh sushi, cute and friendly waitresses, very cheerful sushi chefs, and VERY CHEAP.
  19. fresh sushi - but they seem to play favorites here
  20. amazing fresh sushi double the portions and less expensive
  21. their sushi are always very fresh.
  22. The service was good, courteous, and quick, but the sushi was atrocious.
  23. It seems to me that Yuka's owners have found the magic formula of selling the ultimate junk sushi for a low price that makes it profitable and still ends up with making many people happy.
  24. This is some really good, inexpensive sushi.
  25. Everything was so fresh and so tasty !
  26. 1) the sushi is not fresh and is quite mediocre
  27. It feels so authentic, and the rolls are incredible.
  28. Great if you like bad service and mysterious spicy tuna
  29. order the sashimi sampler and I get a giant plate of fresh tasting fish.
  30. The sashimi was good, and the fish fresh, but the rice was soaked in vinegar and overpowered any other taste (fish, soy, wasabi).
  31. have reservations about the all you can eat deal, however -- the choices are fairly limited and you can probably order more food than you can eat for less than $18 by just going off the menu.
  32. The fish is not fresh, they overload everything with avocado and rice and they charge you for even the smalest piece of sushi left over.
  33. this is perhaps one of the most disgusting sushi places in all of Manhattan.
  34. Note that entering the restaurant you may feel that you are in a real good hole-in-the-wall sushi place but what a disappointment later.
  35. fish was fresh enough, but the quality was only so-so (the salmon was especially sinewy).
  36. Our food was coming out faster then we could eat, fantastic!
  37. out of the handrolls, the yuka (salmon, salmon roe, and cucumber) & the crispy salmon skin were especially good.
  38. The sushi is actually great for the price you pay.
  39. While the all you can eat peices are understandably smaller and more rice heavy the regular priced sushi is just divine.
  40. Yes, the rolls are large, but it is merely a big roll of rice loaded with tons of scallions and covered with spicy sauce.
  41. All of us received the worst sushi we have ever eaten!
  42. pretty good sushi for a great price
  43. One of the worst sushi places I have ever been to.
  44. There were three of us and all agreed at how awful the sushi was.
  45. This place isn't trying to sell its atmosphere but rather good, cheap, authentic food.
  46. love sushi, but I'm also excited to try the other Japanese dishes like udon and tonkatsu, etc., since I miss Japanese food.
  47. Best quality sushi at lowest price anywhere in Manhattan
  48. This is our most favorite sushi spot!
  49. Besides the workers, the food is AWESOME too.
  50. Out of morbid curiosity we opened a piece of each roll to see if there was any fish inside and lo and behold they did include a tiny piece in each of these huge rolls.
  51. 4) they won't bring any more food for you until you finish what's on your plate, which is CRAZY because you can't and don't want to finish the bad bad bad sushi at this crappy restaurant!
  52. It is cheap and they use fresh and high quality meat.
  53. We had more than enough food for the two of us, and the sashimi was awesome.
  54. Trust this review and take a try at one of the most amazingly delicious sushi restaurants on Earth!
  55. $18 all you can eat of fresh sushi!
  56. Fresh sushi - too good to be true.
  57. Huge fresh slices with good flavor.
  58. The sushi was very fresh and tasty.
  59. The spicy Tuna roll is huge and probably the best that I've had at this price range.
  60. Yuka is a great neighborhood sushi bar and the all-you-can eat for $18 is fantastic.
  61. Sure, they get really busy, and crowded, and it might be hard to get "perfect" service, but you're here for high quality, low cost sushi --- not to be waited on hand and foot in your own private booth.
  62. As for the quality of the fish, the nigiri was passable at best, and the cut rolls were borderline inedible.
  63. The sushi makers are great too.
  64. believe that the sushi is pretty fresh and an excellent value for $18!
  65. Not to say I don't appreciate the crazy, but sometimes you just want some tasty, fresh fish on rice.
  66. Thanks god food was delicious.
  67. Yuca Restaurant is probably the most decent and fantastic sushi place you will eat at.
  68. the all-u-can-eat sushi is definitely in very poor quality.

High Quality Sushi for Less

by Athena Chang , Citysearch Contributor

This place is absolutely fabulous! It is cheap and they use fresh and high quality meat. I really like how all their waitresses wear Japanese traditional outift and serve you.

All-you-can-eat sushi deal is amazing but just don't overdo it. You would have to pay for whatever you could not finish!

Also, there is no tipping here. They only charge you 12% "management fee" for 6 people or less. So this makes me feel right back in Asia again! (No tipping there either!)

Best Sushi Place..

by patriciaroberson

it is better than average and in a city where restaurants come and go they have been around forever. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, the staff is friendly and their fish is fresh and well prepared. This is traditional sushi, not the crazy concoctions that you often find in over-hyped, trendy restaurants. Not to say I don't appreciate the crazy, but sometimes you just want some tasty, fresh fish on rice. Well this is the place where you can go for that. Oh and for those who love to party they serve sake bombs...what can I say I'm bit of lush!

Best quality sushi at lowest price anywhere in Manhattan

You need to be a real sushi lover to appreciate this place. Sure, they get really busy, and crowded, and it might be hard to get "perfect" service, but you're here for high quality, low cost sushi --- not to be waited on hand and foot in your own private booth. This place has a loyal fan base; many between 5-10 years. I'm on my fourth year and will keep coming regularly until they close their doors. And if they do, I don't know what I'll do!
