Editorial Review for Kazuyo Nakano – by Christy Goldfeder
The Scene
Designer Kazuyo Nakano's eponymous boutique may be tiny, but it's filled with a variety of leather creations. Although her clever and oh-so-chic bags can be found at places like Barneys, her tiny boutique is the only place where the whole line can be savored at once. A lone salesgal sits at her desk, giving off an air of exclusivity, but that will vanish once you've been buzzed inside.
The Goods
Why blend in with a Kate Spade knockoff from Chinatown? Get a more original look with one of these high-quality leather handbags. The bags with "cargo" pockets on the outside are de rigeur for downtown working girls. Also top-notch: silk-lined bags, slim wallets and a small selection of leather pants and tops.

I can honestly say that when it comes to fashion, I would rather stand out then blend in with the rest of the crowd. Having said that, Nakano's design can fit any NYC woman's style, whether it be cute or trendy or practical yet with a flair. Her handbags does it all. Fuctionality wise, she has clutches and shoulder strap bags, messenger or even wallets. The selection is never boring. You can find monochromatic bags, with a conservative hint of color along the border, or you can find festive and colorful prints. This is a place everyone should check out. Especially since her store has moved and is now much more spacious.
