Excellent instructors who give attention to details and effective feedback that help you gain confidence quickly through efficiency of technique.
This is a great studio with fantastic teachers. They're so good that 3/4 of my family goes & would most likely prefer to be in class than at home. They work well with all ages - 4, 14, or 40. The kids are excited to learn and the adults seem motivated as well.
I have been a student in Total Martial Arts' jiu jitsu program since August 2010 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I've noticed increased energy and endurance as classes continue. I enjoyed it so much that I'm now in the Apprentice Instructor program, learning to perfect my form and expand my understanding of teaching. The other students are great and the teaching style is fun yet structured. This is a great and valuable program for increasing self-confidence and physical improvement.
Highly recommended. Total Martial Arts has a very friendly vibe and you can tell that everybody likes one another there. It is beginner-friendly and with an emphasis on self-defense which I love. It also has a solid curriculum which is not always the case with most martial arts schools. Location is great and parking is convenient. Highly recommended!!
Impressive. All I can say is I wish I'd have started here first. I feel I've progressed at a much quicker rate than where I was previously training, as the instruction is broken down in a much more comprehensive way. I can't imagine training anywhere else. Also the location is second to none. Now, 90% of my friends are training at Total Martial Arts as well!
thank you. Your service was courteous and professional and your work is extremely high quality with obvious attention to detail.
Great. May I take this opportunity of thanking you and your colleagues at Total Martial Arts Center for the efficient and friendly way you have dealt with this.
PS1 not so green afterall.
As a big supporter of the Warmup series and the great art that PS1 supports and exhibits I am thoroughly disappointed at the hypocrisy that goes on outside the venue each Saturday. Inside we have Public Farm One, a wonderful example of everything our planet should be, green. An art installation that uses sustainable materials in a beautiful way to not only produce a wonderful atmosphere for all to relax under, but also to support the idea that rooftop gardens help save our environment with each and every planting.
All of this inside, yet outside we have Warmup workers placing wristbands on people and throwing the sticker backings from them on the sidewalk when garbage cans are placed right next to them. This has happened each and every week this summer and it is disgraceful that such a blatant disregard for the planet we live on is exhibited outside of an environmentally friendly exhibit inside.
PS1 and Warmup should be ashamed of the workers they hire there and if I were the curator of the museum it would not be tolerated. This is the only reason I give this 3 stars.
New York's best nonprofit contemporary art center is the king of Queens' art scene..
The Scene
After a three-year reconstruction, P.S.1--redesigned by L.A. architect Frederick Fisher--reopened its expanded gallery spaces in 1997. The multi-surfaced, 125,000-square-foot center builds upon the original Gothic revival-school building and includes an outdoor exhibition/performance space, a cafe and spacious indoor galleries.
The Collection
Since its reopening, P.S.1 has continued in its previous role as one of the most important art institutions in New York. For about three decades, the center has been a who's who of the most important artists working today while offering innovative and offbeat exhibitions. Having merged with MOMA, P.S.1's national and international studio programs are undoubtedly one of the most desirable in the world, attracting top-level artists from the world over for year-long residencies and an annual exhibition.
Where have all the grownups gone. Although I enjoyed much of the show in its brashness and at times whimsical exploitation of media, I felt a need to see more than this. For one, where was the seductive craftmanship in the finishing of the works? Many works seemed to be classroom projects handed out by professors. Alot has been said about the wealth of drawings, but where are the fine art painters, very few were in evidence (re: the devil painting). I have been seeing a trend in the galleries lately. If a young artist chooses to paint realistically are they exempted from showing because it does not have shock value?
