Brides looking to share the love! – I had just come from an overpriced, overdone, bridal shop which I will not name, but you've probably seen it on TV - and walking into the Bridal Garden was a breath of fresh air. I found tons of great dresses at unbelievably low prices. Yes, I had to do a little work myself (what bride doesn't!), but the dresses were thoughtfully organized and the women working were so sweet. My dress was a steal!! and it's great to know I've made a contribution to a more than deserving cause. It's all about the love, right ladies? that's what Bridal Garden is circulating & thank you for all you do!"
Great dresses, amazing deal – I went dress shopping with my girlfriend who is getting married. The Bridal Garden was stop 4 in a weekend. We saw more interesting and diverse dresses amongst the Bridal Garden selection than we had seen anywhere else (including Kleinfeld's - where it seemed that things were very cookie-cutter and entirely strapless). The people were wonderfully sweet and as a bonus, all proceeds to charity!!
Great place- fantastic staff! – This was a fantastic place to shop for gowns! It was a low-pressure environment, the staff was flexible and relaxed and did not put any pressure on you to buy anything that minute. In fact, the saleswoman even stayed a little late so I could try on my top 2 dresses. Love the fact that all proceeds go to a charity! I would recommend this place to anyone who has an open mind when looking for a wedding dress; if you have something extremely specific in mind, you may be better off going to a different store as their inventory changes day-to-day. I think I tried on almost every dress in the store and never got a look or complaint from the staff. I didn't find a dress there on my first try, but will go back and try again until I find "the one!"
Beautiful Gowns + Charitable Cause = No Brainer. – This was my first experience trying on wedding dresses, and to say that I was overwhelmed going in would be a serious understatement. I had no idea what I was looking for - color, style, etc. - and was completely intimidated by the process of finding the "perfect" gown.
I was drawn to the Bridal Garden by its charitable cause, and was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. Yes, the place is small, no, you will not be handled with kid gloves but you will find beautiful dresses at prices that WILL NOT be beaten anywhere else and friendly, helpful, HONEST consultants that will help you hone down what you love and what you're comfortable in. I think the Bridal Garden is best for those of us who have not been dreaming about the "perfect" dress, and want to figure it out in a low-pressure environment with the help of a kind consultant. They will permit you to put a dress on hold for a week for $100. If you purchase the dress, the deposit is applied toward the dress. If you choose not to purchase the dress, the deposit is donated to charity (win, win!).
It's important to note that an appointment is required and that it will begin at the exact time it is scheduled (if you arrive early, you will wait outside of the suite). Also, men are not permitted in the space. Please keep in mind that as designer samples, some of the dresses need a little love. This being said, the seamstress at the Bridal Garden is more than capable of restoring the dress to top condition.
I wish Gina and her staff continued success and highly recommend the Bridal Garden to anyone in search of a gown.
You can get a Designer's Wedding Gowns for a Fraction of what they cost! – Whoa! why i didn't know about this place before???
I had a great experience here. It is not your high end bridal shop where you are greeted with a glass of champagne or your regular liar bridal store assistant in which they would find anything that you slide into the most beautiful peace they see...
Snap out of it girls this store is known for it's great charity for children and they are a nonprofit organization. All their dresses are donated and the profit is given to charity as well, also if you donate a wedding gown they give you a receipt and it is tax deductible for your next year's taxes.
All designers gowns are priced very reasonable, I purchased a $3000 for just a fraction of what it really cost about $1200 not to mention the dress was in prefect condition and from Rina di Montella what more can I ask for. O.M.G. the staff is very nice and helpfull specially Gina she is so sweet and understanding. I was in a situation in which nothing was working out for me and they did anything and everything in their hands to make me a happy bride, I love them.
I will recommend this place to everyone!
.. and for a good cause, why not? – There's no white glove service nor champaign .... but if you're looking for a good deal, this is should be one of your stops. Dresses range from casual to princess. Some never worn, some gently used. With a bit of patience and endurance, you'll likely walk out with something. They also sell veils and accessories. Did I mention proceeds go to NYC children's ed? That's just the icing on the cake.
love the place.... why do people expect the world though? – I have just purchased my wedding dress at Bridal Garden. I did NOT have a budget, wanted something unique. I have been to high-end salons as well as the most popular one in the city...
This is not the place for you if you're expecting a wide-variety of sizes, and champagne, and sales people kvelling all over you telling you how beautiful you look in EVERY dress you try on. Grow up princess. The proceeds all go to charity, what could be more fantastic!
If you've never been to a sample sale before, and still want to go, take the day off from work and head in with someone you trust, and you will get great service, weekends- it's super-busy, what do you want from them??
Gina, lovely, knowledgable, super helpful!
I was lucky that I am not a ballgown bride, and am quite the opposite-- therefore the beautiful Lela Rose sheath was calling me and was barely touched (donated directly from the designer!) Held it for $100 (try doing that at any sample sale, no chance!) Bought it the following weekend. (P.S. my dress is still shown on a high-end bridal salon website in the city, so these dresses are not old and gritty.)
***I have not gotten alterations here YET so I cannot speak to that, hence the 4 stars. However, Gina's eye for seams and lifting and pulling have me confident (I also come from a family of hem-it-yourself-type, at home "seamstresses," and my mother is also confident she will do a spectacular job.)
Check it out, give yourself time, and don't take yourself too seriously!
So Glad We Went! – The Bridal Garden should open all over the country because EVERY bride with ANY taste deserves the service, selection, and genuine feel that the Bridal Garden in NYC offers every client. They were so helpful. All dresses are organized by straps or strapless, as well as by size. The dressing rooms are spacious and they have giant mirrors so you can really see how you look. They sell all headpieces, etc, and best of all - the woman who works there is a seamstress (NOT a "nagging salesman" at all) and, therefore, she is SO helpful because you can really chat about all the possibilities of what you can do with the dresses! For example, she told me I can make the top into a sweetheart or even add lace. AMAZING for anyone on a budget, as all gowns are around 50+% off!!! It's so nice to feel like with all these wedding expenses, at least one expense will go towards a great charity. Thank you Bridal Garden!
What could be better than finding your dream wedding dress in less than an hour and sipping mimosas by noon? – Gina is fantastic! She's funny and friendly, and she's a straight shooter! I was lucky enough to have family there with me, but if any brides out there are shopping for a gown on your own, you can rest assured that you'll get an honest opinion from Gina--no upselling here, and no BS. How refreshing!
The selection and prices are unbeatable, and the vibe of the place is low-key and pressure-free.
Plus, Gina handmade a veil to match my dress, and it was ready in less than a week! Great experience all around.
Corinne is the BEST!!! – My sister and a girl friend came with me to the shop and we had the best time. Corinne got me in and out of the dresses quickly, even when she was helping 2-3 other brides in the store. Personally, I thought the amount of attention was just right. My sister, my friend and I could look as much as we wanted and weren't limited to how many dresses I could pick, and at the same time there wasn't someone breathing down our necks to make us anxious and tense and pressure us to buy anything. I tried on about 15 dresses, 4 of which were BEAUTIFUL Vera Wang dresses. I narrowed it down to 2 favorites (Vera Wang). Being that these are mostly sample dresses, my picks fit perfectly up top (most of the dresses are smalls), but a lot of the beading needed to be fixed and other parts of the dresses needed to be altered. Corinne knew exactly how to fix the missing beading and rips and tears. I was THIS close to putting down a deposit, but unfortunately they were still out of my price range.
I showed Corinne a picture of a dress I wanted, and she immediately looked it up online, called quite a few stores, and located a salon that had a sample dress of the style in stock AND found the price for it. I'm getting this dress from one of the stores she called (the price was unbeatable), but just for the amazing service and going out of the way to help me, I will definitely come back and make a donation just for the super customer service... and look at the accessories. =)
The selection is amazing for brides who fit size small, and the designs are beautiful and NOT dated. The dresses range from slim sheaths to pouffy ballerina princess gowns, and there is a nice selection of veils and tiaras here too. Forget going to crazy sample sales where you have to wait 2 hours in line for a scant selection and go to the Bridal Garden and actually have FUN trying on dresses.
