The Scene
This tiny, poorly ventilated lounge on a rather desolate, trash-heavy street on the Lower East Side might be one of downtown's most beloved drink and dance destinations. On any night, lounge kings, college students, artists and regular funk freaks come to get a glimpse of local art adorning the brick walls, and a taste of the soulful, mostly hip-hop-oriented sound selection provided by rotating DJs.
The Draw
Most of the lounge's acclaim comes from its straight hook-up scene. You'll definitely rub up against somebody at least once in this tightly packed room. Given the club's rather intimate ambience, any night seems crowded, but bargoers will have the hardest time squeezing in from Wednesday to Sunday.

Don't recommend this place, they let all trashy people in here. Left after 15 mins because we were getting pushed around on the dance floor by these girls who were being jerks, they were just trying to start a fight getting in our faces. We went outside to leave and a few of the girls came outside and one s p i t in my friend face! Obviously, they were just trashy bridge and tunnel girls. Really ruined the night, we just wanted to dance...... too bad.

I came to bob a few weeks ago. Honestly from the outside it didnt look like a place i would particularly go into but i met some friends there and wound up staying till the place closed. They played the best music all night long. There was not one time that i sat down. And its hard to find a place that plays good stuff all night long. it is very tiny and it got real packed but it wasnt too bad. it wasnt all hot and stuffy in there and the drinks were pretty strong and not too overpriced. I will be there again this Friday. Me and all my friends, we loved it.

I came to bOb on Friday, July 18 @ 7:30pm because I wanted to check the place out and decide if I want to have my party there!! Maaan, I ended up leaving at 2:00 in the morning!!! The music from the time I stepped into the venue was on point especially. They played R&B/reggae/Hip-hop/Old skool rap r&b classics. They even mixed in some Madonna and Journey in there!! Although the place was small, it wasn't uncomfortable and I am a big fan of original brick walls and they got'em. The drinks range from $6-$10 dollars, the crow was diverse and nice looking, people came into the bar DANCING!! Everyone was there to have a great time! There wasn't a bathroom line and there was enough seating because everyone was UP dancing!! One of the highlights was when Fatman Scoop (HOT 97 on-air personality) was their just relaxing and did an impromptu "performance" LOVED IT!!! Anyway I will be having my birthday there next week and I looking forward to it!!

When to Go:
Saturday night's "Lil' Bobcat 2000" has been going since the space opened; DJ Pete Rock kicks off the evening with classic funk and finishes strong with hip-hop, R&B, reggae and a touch of salsa.
