“Great coffee and relax ambiance”
“Great food, great desserts, good drinks.”
“Altogether, a great place!”
“ve gone there for over 6 years now, but the big boss who seats us has always been friendly (I have to say he?”
Altogether, a great place!. Great food, great desserts, good drinks. The staff is great sometimes, but sometimes they are sad (forgetting utensils, not giving you exactly what you order, having to find your waiter/waitress)
Great coffee and relax ambiance. They make really good coffee. I also love their ice moca in summer time. I?ve gone there for over 6 years now, but the big boss who seats us has always been friendly (I have to say he?s probably the only friendly Greek business owner in the area?) Whenever we have friends from out of town, we take em there, and always get great response. Now Kolonaki across the street is gone, and they are very much the only Greek cafe on Broadway, but they are still going strong, I really hope they will remain open and provide good coffee and food (did I mention their food is also great? Try salad and breakfast?)
Best Cafe & Best Scene.
This place is good. There are only about three people who make the best coffee and they are there late evenings. All the pastry is fresh and taste great. The premesis is clean, open, inviting and friendly.
I know people who work there and I think I know who you are GreekM...if it's so bad why are they always so busy? Do people like to go out and eat s**t, I wonder? The kitchen is fine. Maybe I'll post pictures of it for everyone so they can see. You say 'used to work there' so there are your motives...sorry you got fired!
worst place in city. i used to work there for a while and i dont understand how people like there desserts and food. they should check their kitchen!!!!!! NO JOKE!!!!
Best Dessert. This is my favorite dessert place in Astoria. I love their pastries and coffee. The cafe is never too crowded and service is usually fast and courteous.
Makes Broadway Charming!. Ommonia is great for sitting outside, having dessert and drinking coffee. When the sun goes down the little candles are lit and the trees and flowers are perfect. You must taste the tiramisu and the caramel cake.
Greek desserts at this late-night cafe..
In Short
Ommonia is a luxurious coffeehouse consisting of two rooms graced with green plastic and neon lights. The bakery counters are stocked with delicacies like kaidaf, a concoction of shredded wheat, honey and nuts, and all kinds of Greek coffees, alongside American coffee--and pizza. There's always a large Greek crowd frequenting this cafe, which stays open very late most nights, or, rather, mornings.
THE place for dessert in Astoria. Are there still people in Astoria that haven't tried this place? If you are looking for amazing desserts and pastries, this is the place to go. I've never tried their 'regular' menu, i.e. sandwiches, entrees, etc, but their cakes and pies are top notch. Be warned, it can get pretty crowded on weekends and also quite noisy, especially if the piano player is in. But if you don't feel like dealing with all that, just walk up to their takeout counter and enjoy your cheesecake in the privacy of your own home.
