Hi - Does anyone know where Faith went? She was amazing and I was so disapointed to learn she left the salon. When I called to get her information the women that answered the phone was very rude and I'm pretty sure lied about Faith's last name and said they had no forwarding information. I asked for the manager and then they told me Angela was with a customer and couldn't speak with me.

If anyone has information - I would love to reach out to her.

Bizarre and uneven. I made an appointment (same day) for a wash, cut and blow dry. I have long layers and just needed them cleaned up. My usual stylist was booked so since this salon is the neighborhood, I thought I'd give it a try. The salon itself could definitely use some cleaning and an update in decor. But my biggest complaint was the actual service: I can't speak to any other stylists, but Rafael was terrible.

He was inattentive and really seemed as though he was annoyed that I was in his chair. Aside from meandering around the salon mid-cut to chat with people, he had this bizarre and sometimes painful habit of flipping my hair into my eyes each time he cut. Not only did I end up with hair in my eyeballs, but all the flipping increased the static electricity in my hair. The haircut was uneven (as I discovered a day later) and it was impossible to keep tame given all the static.

I tend to be pretty quiet while getting my hair done - I like to give stylists the benefit of the doubt and in doing so, I assume that each stylist has their own "techniques". Rafael wasn't being "technical"; he was just being flashy and inept.

Best haircut in 5 years!. I walked in here last week after being unhappy with a haircut I had two weeks ago from another salon. Faith spent 10 minutes talking to me about what I liked and didn't like about the cut before we even talked about scheduling an appointment. I trusted her off the bat and my instincts were correct! She had an opening and was able to cut my hair right then which was perfect. I absolutely love my haircut! It works when my hair is natural and curly and also when I straighten it. She really understood my hair. I coudln't ask for anything more and will be back!

I have "Faith". I recently walked into the salon hoping that a stylist would be able to color correct some of my highlights (mostly my part and bang area). They were very brassy, as a result of a former salon I went to. Faith was so friendly and helpful. She said I would need just a few foils and a toner, but she actually added more foils to make sure everything blended nicely. She then gave me a deep conditioning treatment. She was amazing!

Everyone could not have been nicer, from Brooke the receiptionist to Faith's assistant. I liked that I was not rushed, and Faith really took her time to educate me about hair care, products, etc. Not to sell me stuff...but to inform me about the importance of knowing what works for me. I am looking forward to my next appt.

Master Yolanda. After 4 years living in New York and looking for the right place, I want to thank Yolanda and all the staff for their work. Finally I found what I was looking for! Best color and best cut. Finally I'm not missing my hairdresser in Rome anymore!! Thanks Yolanda and thanks Jeffrey Stein Salon.

Not into it. I would give this place negative stars too. I am pretty dissatisfied with my haircut, but even more disappointed in their poor POOR customer service. I was offered a water when I came in- which I happily accepted- but it never came. Small thing, but definitely a telling of what was to come.

I was really disappointed in the cut. Called the next day to see if a different stylist could fix it and was told NO. I decided to call back when I had more time to figure things out.

So, a few days later I called back to be told it wouldn't be fair for another stylist to fix my hair even though I really didn't want to go back to the guy who messed my hair up (in my opinion). After a lil bit I was told to come in and someone else would fix my hair-

THEN- I get a call a few minutes later telling me it isn't fair for anyone else to cut my hair and none of them want to do it (would've taken three minutes to fix) and I had to come in for the original stylist. I asked if I could have a partial refund to go somewhere else.

NO.

They don't do that.

So, they wanted me to come in and get my haircut by the same stylist who obviously didn't understand what I wanted. No thanks. I heard Jeffrey Stein himself was all about customer satisfaction, but I guess his other stylists aren't.

Great short haircut done by Kim at one of the UWS locations. I do a blog where I interview people with good hair off the street. One girl I stopped got her hair cut by Kim at one of these locations on the UWS. Maybe it is this salon, no sure.

See the interview and pictures of the girl's hair at my website in the blog section. Here name is Annie: Just google whatcutandwhere to get to the site.

Great place. I have been going to this Jeffrey Stein salon for 4 years now and i have always walked out happy. I usually go for haircut and blowdry and i see whoever is available since i beleive everyone who work there is great. I was just reading the review prior and i am sorry that person feels that way cause that place was going to shut down before the new management took over. they renovated and yes its a small place but i dont think they can do anything about that. The people are more than nice and they always accomodated me even when i walked in on a saturday and that place is jumping. I highly recommend this salon, oh and now they do manicures and pedicures now too. Ask for Patricia. She is amazing.

BEST hair salon in NYC! Get a manicure while your gets hair blown. This place is increadible. They opened an hour early for me since I had an early wedding. After an awesome shampooing and some coffee I got to have my nails done (ask for Patricia) while I got my hair blown which was great since I was in a time crunch. The service is great and the prices are really reasonable given the extremely high quality of the place. After having tried many salons throughout the city, I highly recomend Jeffrey Stein Salon!
