“It has a very cool atmosphere as well.”
“They lit all the candles on our cake and brought it out, and then when they cut and served the cake we had, the chef nicely designed a "Happy Birthday" message on my boyfriend?”
“The drinks were also amazing, although the sangria was not that great, 2 much grape juice!”
“All the food was wonderful, you must try the tortilla pie.”
“mean I understand its a good restaurant and well known but if I want to order off the menu and not be stck with a prefixed one, I should be able to do that.”
“By far the best Mexican restaurant in NYC.”
“have plans to go back and enjoy this beautiful restaurant.”
“I've been there a dozen times now and the staff is always great and the food is always superb.”
“Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere and get some decent Mexican food & drink for half the price.”
“Service was good but not great -- the waiter forgot to give me a steak knife for my lamb and then disappeared for several minutes, so I sat watching everyone else eat until I could flag down another server.”
So good!.
I love this mexican restaurant! It is always a great experience!
You must try the queso fundido and the dessert: tres leches de la casa!
Besides that the pomegrane margarita is terrific!
Over Priced, Noisy, Mediocre.
Stopped in with friends had a great cockta! The service was very nice. However, the food was simply middle-of-the-road. Was served cold and waited what seemed like days! Couldn't really have a conversation with friends for the place was too loud.
I will not be back!
Okay food. Overpriced in an unreasonable way. The food was not bad, the guac was good, but the prices killed everything good about it
Ehhhh...not impressed. Very, very unimpressed. The food was ridiculously expensive and not worth it at all. The guacamole was good, sure, but for that price, it was completely not worth it. The mexican food was average at best, the drinks were nothing special, the service was slow on a crowded night, and although we ended up having a good time, we really had to try to make the best of it.
Go to the one at Union Sqaure, not here. First of all, I love Rosa Mexicano, the one at union square. Last Sunday, we decided to try the one at Lincoln Center for the Sunday lunch restaurant week menu and it was a huge mistake. When we asked for the restaurant week menu, the staff told us they don’t do Sunday lunch and that the information on Opentable is inaccurate. It was as if we had to beg for the restaurant week menu and yet when other people were seated, the restaurant week menu was provided to them without asking. We ended up having to order from the regular brunch menu which we did not enjoy much. The guacamole was not prepared thoroughly as we could still see and taste huge chunks of guacamole and the steak was very chewy. Overall, my experience at this location is very poor. The one at Union Square has much better service, food, and decor.
magical decor, wonderful guacamole. I have been to this location many times since it opened. The last couple of times I was surprised and disappointed by a change in the atmosphere - it had lost its sophistication and elegance - big tourist/family crowd; the staff was pleasant, but amateurish, They assumed we needed instruction on the food, and thovered and kept trying to push menu items and drinks, and, likely, $$$.
Great place. Great place, had a good time, I went on a Friday night, but try and get there right before the rush, we got there at 6:30 by the time we left there was a pretty long wait. the service was good, the drinks and food were good. Would definitely go back.
Wonderful Experience!.
I came here with my mother and her fiancee. We barely managed to beat the post-opera crowd but still ran into a road block. Somehow we were behind a couple of people in line and the wait came to 45 minutes all of a sudden! When I spoke with the host he told me about the lengthy wait and when I expressed my disappointment he simply told me that he'd work it out.
We got sat in 2 minutes!!
We ordered the guacomole app which was DELICIOUS! I had the priviledge of indulging in the vegetarian enchiladas which was wonderful and filling. We decided to get the churros for dessert and they - were - FABULOUS! 3 different dipping sauces and warm churros? CAN'T GO WRONG!
Anyway, I'd recommend this place to anyone. Just be sure to have a full wallet so you don't have to worry about your taste buds having to match your pocketbook.
Nothing to brag about.... A friend of mine brought me here today. My first impression was "WOW" nice place. I was sort of impressed with the guacamole. It was delicious. I started looking at the menu, I couldn't decide so I ordered the chicken tacos. jmmmm, I received about 5 pieces of chicken on tops of melted cheese "BTW the cheese was good". The chicken had no taste, the tiny tacos where just well tacos. I just didn't have anything to make a taco. i wasn't impressed. The margarita was not good. I won't be returning...Too pricey for nothing. I must agree with other reviews I have tasted better Margaritas and Mexican food. I think you are better off going to a local place where the food is better and cheaper. Not worth it @ all. It's sad because the restaurant is beautiful and it can be romantic. Sorry, if you want to give your hard earned money away, GO!!!! If not, skip it...You are not missing anything at all...... ;-)
Overpriced bad service.
I wait at the bar for one hour to be seating, the bartender was rude and not very fluent in English and the margaritas terrible. The food was ok. the service was terrible the waitress and the manager were so rude. I have never had experience like that in my life...I would never go there again!!!!!!!
I am sorry to say that what used to be a decent restaurant is no longer worthy.
