Ever faced the challenge of curtailing an insatiable beef-and-beer craving while strolling through the land of 1,000 salads? Find refuge at this top-notch, food-focused neighborhood pub, where the burger reigns supreme, in all its glory, with a chipotle mayo crown. The patrons tend toward a mix of boys about town, tired moms in need of a break, and gallery-goers seeking an offbeat diversion from the art scene of 10th Avenue. Happy hour brings a rush, and if you're lucky enough to get a seat you'll enjoy prompt service, good beer and tasty food. – – Hits: The dimly lit,…

Worst Service Ever

by baconpie at Citysearch

Two well-dressed, polite friends and I stopped here for a drink. The bartender studiously ignored us. It wasn't crowded, it was 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. The host and hostess, both with the most affected speech [seriously touched - they were like the wanna-be retail fashionistas on SNL, as played by Will Ferrell, Pierce Brosnan and Jimmy Fallon] I've ever heard, were defending the snobby bartender instead of making him serve us. He literally served the people to our right, to our left and at the other end of the bar, most of whom arrived after we did. Horrible.

A friend who lives in the 'hood said they will only wait on the literati and the neighborhood people, and "everyone knows that". Wow. Junger doesn't need the money, I guess, since the success of "The Perfect Storm". Egalitarian proletariat my a$$. I'd like to see one of the fishermen from Gloucester get served here.

  • Pros: Wouldn't know
  • Cons: Snobby

Love this place for lunch, brunch and dinner. Reasonably priced and really good service, their meals are always delicious. Also right next to the new fabulous Highline Park!! A must on weekends!
