“It has a lively atmosphere and very interesting and extensive sake, wine and drink lists.”
“also loved the moqueca and the chocolate fondue at the end was a perfect finale to another amazing evening.”
“I'll give credit where credit it due, so I must say the food and drinks were excellent.”
“like the fact that the food takes a while to come so we get to chat and relax, enjoy our drinks and gossip.”
“The staff is courteous and management is top notch especially Martin C. and Joey A. Well in a nutshell, it is quite clearly the best sushi place out and if you are not afraid of fusion cuisine there is NOT a bad item on the menu.”
“Still, a great place for cocktails.”
“Overall, the service was horrible and I would never go back there again.”
“The best sushi in town, cool people, fun atmosphere is just a few of the reason.”
“And lastly -- I never get dessert and rarely find it worth the calories, but the dessert they brought us was *perfect.”
“To make a long story short, an off duty waitor "Ryan" had asked us if we would like a seat with the rest of his party while we waited for our other friends.”
Not bad. Took some friends to try out a sushi place we hadn't been to. turns out, the food is pricey and it takes forever to come out. I know sushi is expensive but damn this was a little outrageous. plus we weren't at all impressed with the presentation which is really important for good sushi. all in all 2/5.
Best Drink ever!. We start by having drinks at the bar, then more drinks on the lounge are, then more drinks and food on the dinning room. Service was great, food was just delish and the drinks was just too good!
your service sux!!! 30 min wait even w/ a reservation???.
think one star rating is very generous at this point.
last month, I had a reservation, when I had 8 ppl coming for my birthday here. couldn't locate my name for reservation when I had even given them my credit card # for the reservation. did not want to make a big scene in front of my friends and sucked up, but this time it got worse. (of course, that night the general manager was no where to be found!)
Last night, I made a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday dinner/ pre-Valentine's day dinner, the hostess Could NOT located my name for the reservation and made me and my bf go to the bar for 10 mins. after she located my name finally-- she asked me to wait another 15 mins to get seated when there were at least 5 empty tables available. I wonder if general manager actually works here or is the hostess simply a general manager and allowed to jerk people around for 20-30 mins?? When I finally got to speak to the general manager, he wasn't too concerned about my wasted time and the horrible service, but he was very confident that the business was good. SO I WALKED OUT OF THE RESTAURANT BEING SO FED UP w/ these ridiculous snob management staffs!
WILL NOT GO BACK!! if you decide to go here, BE AWARE, YOU WILL NOT GET SEATED ON TIME EVEN W/ YOUR RESERVATION!!!
the food is pretty ok but to wait 30 mins plus to just get seated, I will pass and go to Megu or another hip sushi place!
FUSION SUSHI. This place is right down the street from the Barrow St Theatre which makes it a great spot pre or post theatre. If spicy is not your thing, then be careful and let them know. Good for bigger groups too since they have tables that seat larger groups and depending on where you are sitting, it can be a lively spot for dinner or a more intimate space.
Pleasurable night at SushiSamba 7. Cuisine is unique and delicious. With the guidance of our fabulous waiter, Kelsey, my party of 6 sampled about a 1/3 of the menu. Notable favors: 1) Yellowtail Crispy Taquitos; 2) Sashimi Tiradito - Yellowtail and Kanpachi; 3) Samba rolls - Samba 7 and Neo Tokyo and, 4) Moqueca Mista. The atmosphere is supportive of mid- to large size groups. The space is open so sound carries and can get loud at times, so if you are looking for a quiet night out this is not the place for you. Service: Best part of the night was the service we received from the wait staff. Lead by Kesley, they helped my sometime temperamental party navigate the eclectic menu. Kesley was the best. I would definitely recommend SS7, especially if you like sushi and Brazilian fusion cuisine.
Pricey but worth it!.
The nost important thing above all is that they truly have one of the best sushi I have ever tasted.
We knew from the beginning that they are not cheap, so we weren't surprised, But still, It wasn't very easy to put all my paycheck on one supper,, :0
SO DISGUSTED!. this was horrible. first off the hosts are a-holes. we reserved a table for 845 were not ev en 5 min late and they made a huge deal over it. waited over 40 min for our table.. food was cold, late, sloppy. GOOD but sloppy. could have made this at home. waitress was a total idiot. spen t over $250 and left because our drinks were warm, our food was cold or REALLY late coming out, and we didnt even want to bother with dessert. we went somewhere else. soooooo pissed i waasted my money there. they were totally a-holes the entire time. i will tell EVERYONE i know about how shitty the service is there, and i have a big mouth..so i guess only the dorks we saw there in their blazers and new york and co. dresses will be "partying" it up. NOT a cool place, totally overrated.. Shashikos on clinton is ten times better and the hosts will make you feel like kings and queens FOR HALF THE PRICE!
the best dinner spot on Saturdays.
I was visiting NY and My friend Caesar from Club 49 Grove told me to go there before the Club. At first I was concern but when i got to the restaurant I had the best welcome anyone can ask for. The waitress was super cute and gave me the best service as possible. The Drinks Carlos at the bar made me and my friends I am still dreaming about it. The variety of sushis are just to die for.
thanks Sushi samba. I will be back soon
Food is unpredictable.. Love the atmosphere and drinks. But everytime I come here it seems the food is so unpredictable. Sometimes yummy and sometimes uneatable.
