Editorial Review for Classic Harbor Line – by Allison Austin
In Short
The Schooner Adirondack, built by Scarano Boat Building, measures 78 feet and is a faithful replica of an 1890s two-masted schooner which offers cruises departing daily from Chelsea Piers at 1pm, 3:30pm, 6pm and 8:30pm. The Yacht Manhattan departs at 11am, 2:30pm, 4:30pm, 6:30pm, and 8:45pm. The Adirondack's cruises include free beer and soft drinks, while the Manhattan's cruises include wine and champagne. Due to weather, it is recommended that you call in advance for times, cancellations and reservations.

I have gone out before with this company, and have always enjoyed myself, but this year I spent my holiday Thanksgiving dinner aboard the Yacht Manhattan. It was one of the most heart warming experiences that I have had in a long time. The yacht was warm and cozy. The food was delicious and plenty. But the thing that stuck out most is how this company created an atmosphere that felt like family. I was sitting down at a table that had other couples at the table...at first I thought this was intimidating, but within minutes, everyone was laughing, and I felt like I was in the company of friends from the past. The crew had smiles and helped with whatever was needed. This experience was beautiful. Who knew, Thanksgiving on the water in manhattan. The views were stunning. This company has my heart, this is what companies should be like. A half hour into the cruise the boat turned around to go back to the dock to pick up some later comers...we all cheered as the couple jumped aboard....I have never had a company care so much about helping their customers..THANK YOU CLASSIC HARBOR LINE...I am looking forward do cruising more with you, and I am looking forward to having a new experience when your schooner comes down. Warmly, A Stunned, satisfied customer.
Pros: Friendly, trained crew, amazing plently food, comfey cozy atmosphere

We went on a brunch sail on the yacht Manhattan for New Year's Day. Despite the fact that it was raining and the fog was as thick as pea soup, we had a fantastic time! The brunch buffet was pretty good - hot quiche, sausage, and waffles, as well as salad, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, bagels, etc. more than I expected from the description on their website. Even the coffee was pretty good. There is also a full bar - I only had one drink, so I'm not certain if more than one drink was included in the ticket price. The yacht is very pretty - a glassed in room with banquettes and tables so every seat is a good seat. Even the bathrooms were nice! Our cruise had about 30 people, half groups and half couples, so you could mix if you wanted or find a corner to be alone in. The staff was great - very friendly and informative. (Note, this is not a "tour guide" cruise, so don't expect to get the history of NYC.) Our cruise went north from Chelsea Piers, up between Manhattan and the Bronx, then down the Harlem and East Rivers, past the Statue of Liberty and back up to Chelsea. Despite the fog, we really enjoyed the whole experience - both the pleasant atmosphere inside the boat, as well as hanging out on deck and seeing the city from a totally different view. We definitely want to go again!
Pros: Nice boat, good food, good staff, good for couples or groups
Cons: Foggy day
