Great Staff

by robinc41

Whenever I go to NYC, I try to book this hotel if it is not sold out. This is my favorite hotel in NYC. I've stayed in a suite with a kitchenette and sofa bed. The rooms are nice, great bathrooms with comfortable beds. Perfect location for tourist in town for shopping or a show. This hotel has THE nicest hotel staff in NYC and they make great recommendations for dinner. For what you get, well worth the price.

Great Hotel

by lisamel

I have stayed at the Benjamin several times. I live out on the Island, and stay in the city quite often. This is a great hotel. I like the one bedroom suite with kitchen. My 3 friends and I had a ball staying over night. We even had a balcony. Beds are great, service great. Not too highly priced. Space is somewhat small, but great for a girls party weekend.

  • Pros: comfort, price, service
  • Cons: none IMHO

Another Affinia favourite

by sillybugger

I have tried and tried to find a dependable NYC hotel over the last six years. I've given up on miles, because the chains that are moderately affordable and offer them are pretty average in quality. So my new favourite NYC hotel is the Benjamin, and any other Affinia hotel comes in second. They get business travel -- printer and fax machine in room; big desk with real desk chair; good outlets and high speed that you don't have to climb behind the furniture to find.

The rooms have excellent beds and linens, big closets, quality bathroom amenities, and a fridge+microwave+popcorn! It's nice to come back after a day of running around for meetings.

The staff are friendly but not hover-y. The Benjamin has a nice second floor lounge that I've used for entertaining colleagues and guests. Also, the bellmen can always find a cab for me.

  • Pros: Great room, good location, professional staff
  • Cons: prices rising
