“It has an excellent SoHo location, but lacks all SoHo pretense.”
“Good Irish bar”
“The food is generally tops, although the bar pizza is the best I have ever had (you will want to keep eating even when you can't think of having another bite), and is a must whenever I am visiting the city (note: do not try the fish tacos).”
“Who doesn't love a laid-back Irish bar with the best beer selection one could ever find (Stella, Hogarten, and the Guinness is a work of art)?”
“used to be a huge fan of Puck Fair, it's a great after work relaxing place to meet an old friend.”
“It is a nice bar but and the bartenders are nice but sometimes they just aren't interested in bein there i know people have their off days, but bartenders are supossed to be the life and soul of the bar.”
“Guiness good, price bad”
Don't Eat the Food here.
I ate here recently and got food poisoning that lasted into three days. A friend of mine looked up their rating on the nyc health dept website and it was dismal. So, if you like to drink here that's one thing, but don't eat the food. I personally will never walk back into a place that served food that made me so sick.
The relevant link follows... it's called Puck Bar in their database in case the link doesn't work.

in the biz. our waitress nice but a cadet of the space variety. went for brunch because we were in the neighborhood and decided against the usual noho star. food was mediocre and took forever. someone obviously left my salmon eggs benedict in the window so when i finally got them the yolks were solid and the hollandaise was lumpy. not to mention the incredibly salty smoked salmon underneath. the redeeming thing about this place was the quaint upstairs and seemingly thoughtful beer selection. ill pass by and go back to the noho star nexttime.
I'm getting tired!!!.
I'm really getting tired of all this a$$holes, called " customers". I working as a server/bartender for the past 4 years in NYC.MY last place to work is close by to "PUCK FAIR". I'm going for a drink to "PUCK" at least twice a week. And never-ever, I mean NEVER I faced something rude in this place. When I'm reading reviews on Puck Fair,I just want to make somebody blind or disable! Such a miserable people are going to sites like menupages, citysearch, zagat!! It seems that they are getting sucha pleasure to go to the place,to find some little thing which is wrong and then pour a gallon of sh!t ot the place.Have you ever, mozirfekers, served people?? Have you ever worked at least in a starbucks??? Do you really think, that we,SERVERS, need your stincky $8 tip on $90 check??? You can keep your money!! Teach your wife to COOK or maybe try to do it yourself??? " OH,this place is so crowded!" - if you don't like crowd, stay at your HOME.Nobody needs you!! by a bottle of Grey Goose, some crandberry juice and make your own drinks!!! "Oh,staff is so rude" -look at yourself!!! do you think it's easy to deal with you or your girl-friend who is always on the period??? My drink is too watery,my food takes so long(go and cook it yourself once again!!).
By the way. Puck is a great place to find new friends,to listen to really good music,to eat some classy bar food,to try a new brand of beer(they change them constantly) and if you don't enjoy it,GET OUT!!!!
Good after work drinks. Great selection of beer and I like the crowd that gathers there. Especially fun on Thursday nights after work...
Nice Bar. I have hung out here a few times with friends. It is a nice bar but and the bartenders are nice but sometimes they just aren't interested in bein there i know people have their off days, but bartenders are supossed to be the life and soul of the bar. Haven't tried the food before so i cant comment but they seem busy enough.
Fantastic Atmosphere.
I have spent a lot of time in New York, and more specifically in Puck Fair, of all the bars I have been to (including Ulysees and The Swift which are owned by the same crowd) it is by far my favourite.
The Staff are very friendly and even though you are in a massive city like New York, you can feel like a regular (although on a 2 week holiday I become a regular!)
With the option of a great selection of beers and lagers, or a fantastic range of Cocktails and Mixed Drinks, Puck Fair is an ideal hangout!
The atmosphere emitted from all of the customers, especially the Irish ExPats who feel very at home makes Puck Fair a great choice for a night out.
Great for a couple of pints. I always stop in for a pint or 2,pretty good beer selection.Good snacks-toasties,fish and chips, better than average bar food and the fries are very good. The bartenders are friendly and are pretty cool with the buybacks. The music could be better and after work it could be a bit much with alot of drunken suits. This place is perfect on a saturday afternoon-not too crowded, pretty cozy.Prices are like everywhere else and the bathrooms are clean.
Really cool decor. Tucked away in a corner street you'd never know it was this gorgeous inside. High ceilings, wood and candles make the decor very relaxing, downstairs theres another bar behind a cage (didnt really understand that but I was drunk). Late nights it can turn into an grope fest, older crowd gets drunk and frisky before closing time. Bartenders are cute and friendly. The music they play is awesome - ranges from relaxing jazz and ambient to reggae. You can dance in the back, and there are actually 2 entrances on each side of the street, pretty cool. If you are looking to chill out, try this place. Also, they have booths that are reminiscent of horse stables. Its all very Irish.
Apparently, It's Become A Strip Club. I used to be a huge fan of Puck Fair, it's a great after work relaxing place to meet an old friend. But this past Saturday I went there with a friend who was reviewing if for a travel website. After having a few drinks upstairs we went downstairs to retrieve our coats from the coat check in the basement near the downstairs bar and saw a drunk girl dancing and slithering all over the top of the bar in her bra. When we turned around after getting the coats she was braless. I was so disgusted by this since I didn't purposely decide to hand out in Scores for the night and isn't this illegal at regular bars? So I went upstairs to the bouncer and told him and he didn't seem bothered by it all. How funny that a couple of guys would get kicked out if they were too drunk or fighting but this seemed to be just fine by him. He didn't move an inch. Or seem to care that it was the bartender with his hands all over her and cheering her on. What kind of establishment has this become? It felt like a scene right out of The Accused to me. I'm truly disappointed that one of the places I would have called great has turned it to this. Whoever is running this place should be ashamed.
Great drink selection; comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere!. I first was attracted to this bar when I saw that they had Chimay on tap. Well they have a great drink selection for whatever your tastes are! The atmosphere is comfortable, and the music is unobtrusive. There are three levels, so there's plenty of space to find somewhere to go and sit. I really enjoyed this place because it was easy to talk to my friends and everybody was really friendly. I'd totally recommend this to those who love pubs and good beer. The food's good, too, I've heard.
