Editorial Review for Waterville Valley Resort – by Citysearch Editors

The Scene
Waterville's town square has five places to eat, but skiers who want to dine should venture off the mountain to the Mad River Tavern. The nightlife is also hit or miss. Hook up with a moonlit snowshoe tour, then head back to your room for a fireside glass of wine and dreams of tomorrow's skiing.

The Slopes
Waterville Valley's trails are predominantly intermediate. But that doesn't mean there aren't runs that make your hair stand on end. For thrills, try Lower Bobby's Run, a bumpy double diamond that was allegedly named for Bobby Kennedy. Old Tecumseh, which is a local favorite, provides a good ride that can be as challenging as you want to make it.

I've been skiing Waterville ever since I was four and it gets better every year. A great place to take the family, it is a medium level mountain, with a few nice mougul runs on the sunny side of the mountain. The villiage is great and offers lots of stuff for those too timid to get on skis.

Pros: Great snow, Great location, Best instructors

Cons: Can have long lines, Mid-level skiing
