Editorial Review for East Village Bed & Coffee – by Gayot.com

The Scene
Located in the quiet part of the East Village and not close to a subway station, this guesthouse feels like it's in another city. But with loads of great bars and restaurants on every corner and friendlier-than-average residents, staying in this area can be a very pleasant experience. It doesn't hurt that Anne, the owner, is down-to-earth and friendly. She even lends guests her bicycle and has been known to cook up dinner on occasion.

The Details
This property is popular with the Euro set. It has seven rooms of varying sizes, the smallest and least expensive being the Dutch Room. The others, including the Mexican Room, the French Room and the Afghani Room, are spacious and nicely decorated. The bathrooms (one per floor) are shared. All rooms have air conditioning and free Wi-FI access. Guests also have access to coffee, tea and a fully equipped kitchen.

User Reviews for East Village Bed & Coffee

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

My wife and I had stayed in the French room and the East room during our visit to New York this Christmas and we absolutely loved it. The location is incredible, everything you need is right around the corner (restaurants, bars, groceries, laundry, etc.). EVB&C is very well run by the hostess -- it's very clean and very much like home. There are not many places in NYC where you can find a room with a kitchen and all the tea and coffee you can drink for such an affordable price. In fact, we liked it so much that we are already making plans to come down there with some of our friends for next Christmas and New Year's. Thanks to Anne and her daughter Janette. We love you guys!

Pros: safe, inexpensive, good location
