Wonderfully Accomodating - Delicious Tapas. Went here over the weekend with several friends for my bachelorette party, and we had a fantastic time. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and accomodating, and our waiter, Carlos, was absolutely the best. Very sweet and solicitous, gave some wonderful suggestions, and made sure our glasses were always full of unlimited sangria and wine. I think we must have become a little obnoxious, but he never blinked and was so good to us throughout, even running after us a whole block away when someone had forgotten her sunglasses. And the food? Dynamite. The tapas were all incredible, and there was so much to eat! By the time we got the paella, we were all so full we could barely eat anymore, but everything was delicious. I loved everything about the place. Thanks, Sala!

Great place. I really enjoyed this place. The service was very friendly and the food was great. The spanish tortilla was amazing, large portion so be careful how much you order. The atrichoke dish was yummy, with pieces of chorizo. The mussels were great and the sangria is great. It was a large place so if you are looking for a small intimate place might not be what you are looking for but it is a great place for a group. I have not tried the other location but would love to.

Enjoyable Experience... I had a really enjoyable experience here when one of my best friends came to town. The service was really great- our waiter encouraged us to sample as many bottles as we liked before deciding on one. He kept bringing them over, so after a while we had to cut him off. No joke.

Great place to drink a bottle and nibble on cheese with a friend.

Very fun atmosphere, must have the paella, goat cheese, and sangria. Very good service here, nice atmosphere for friends. If you go with a group it's pretty cheap.

great food!. Had dinner before my Birthday party. The food was great and the atmosphere was very calm... Just what we needed to get start out our night. Made a last minute reservation for a few of us. The steak and shrimp were delicious. Will definitely return.

Great place all around - especially for large groups!!. I was searching for a restaurant near the West Village to host my birthday dinner. I had been to Sala on W19th Street and thought Sala Bowery would be worth a try. I am so glad that I did!!! I opted to go with the pre-set menu, and worked with two Sala employees ahead of time on the arrangements. They were so patient with the additions/subtractions of guests...even when I was sending a random email at 10pm on Friday night. We arrived and were seated immediately, even though the entire party had yet to arrive. Once the table was full, within a minute our waiter was filling glasses w sangria and taking drink orders. The food then started and didn't stop. Everything was delicious, the portions were great, and the service was excellent. I will absolutely go back, and suggest Sala Bowery to everyone!

First time food critic falls in love Sala, enough to write this review. ** READ THIS ARTICLE FROM A FIRST TIME "FOOD CRITIC" **

I had the pleasure of returning to Sala a second time around, for a birthday party that I threw for a friend along with 6 coworkers. I chose this location after having been there once for my own birthday party.

However, I never gave Sala much thought after that one-time outing. And I regret having done so. Last night at Sala made me reevaluate the great value of this restaurant.

The decor, with its rich outside of Barcelona-esque look, and the lively contemporary music of Nelly Furtado and Amy Winehouse set the scene. The service was beyond 5 star, with the manager even fetching our coats for us. The pleasant & beautiful waitress never missed a beat & was right there when we needed her.

We came there after going to another bar with only a small appetite. But once the vibrant perfume of garlic, thyme and rosemary perked up our olfactory senses, we found it irresistible to refuse the delicacy that greeted us.

Dining was a delight. mariscos, Calamari, Potatoes and goat cheese fritters baptized in honey made for a diversely appetizing meal enjoyed by all. And, given our party's eclectic tastes and requirements (Vegetarian, Kosher, certain allergies) the meal was properly balanced and a feastful pleasure unto all.

It is rare for a food critic to ever feel any compunction about attacking a restaurant for poor service or the like. It is even rarer when one feels compelled to give a restaurant great accolade.

But when a restaurant such as Sala compels this patron to subscribe to online news magazine to write his very first ever praise for a restaurant, then that truly sets the mark for how amazing Sala restaurant.

It is in my opinion that Sala may be the greatest authentic Spanish cuisine restaurant in all of New York. Go there with a hearty appetite for food and merriment and you shall not be disappointed.

Going Away Party. My friends and I had a great time at my going away dinner/party last night. The food was delish and the service was attentive. The drawback was the hour wait before we were seated, but they made up for it with drinks. We had a preset menu, which was fairly priced and offered a great selection. After dinner, my group of friends grew to a larger number, which they were willing to accomodate. They cleared the lower level for my party, so it felt very private. The space was perfect for my group of ~20 and we had a great time. A special thanks to Rob for coordinating.

Great group outing. I made reservation for 12 ppl and they seated us even when the whole party wasn't there yet. The place isn't overally crowded and loud that you can't hear people talk at the dinner table. They didn't rush us or try to kick us out which is a plus on a Saturday night. The food wasn't bad either but a tad expensive and the sangria was good. However, my friend said the sangria is better at Havana Central. Overall I think we all had a decent time here.
