We enjoyed Expressway Music NYC Dj a lot on my brother’s wedding, what a good collection of music they have and they have a good experience of playing music so I would definitely like to hire Expressway Music NYC Dj on my wedding too.

PURE GOLD

I found the best DJ in New York for my wedding.

I'd always had an idea of the kind of DJ I'd want at my wedding. Someone who would play music for the crowd and not for themselves. Someone with an extensive playlist that would even cover my fiancee's taste in music . Someone who you could even invite to the wedding. Well David Swirsky was that someone.

In the months leading to the wedding I played around with the online planner, selecting the music for the first dance, highlighting songs that should not be played under any circumstances whatsoever, trying to plan every single track.

During the meeting with David a week before the wedding I realised I didn't have to plan every single song, after a few minutes of talking to me he knew the style we were aiming at - how do you mix 80s Brit-Pop with Reggaeton??? I was more than happy to let David go with what he felt was best.

Now I was relaxed about the music, but what about the actual ceremony? I didn't have a clue (first and only wedding for me) how it all worked and what music was played and when, and what happens after and how does cocktail hour go and when do we cut the cake? David was great, in fact this is where he went far beyond what we asked. He has so much experience with weddings and has seen so many he knows how everything works. His assistant Taylor prompted us on a couple of occasions and everything just fell into place. The timing of the music during the ceremony was exquisite and the music he played during cocktail hour was great. Once the main event i.e. the actual dancing, came around David was in his element. He knows his music and what songs work with the crowd he has before him. So much so that I'm still coming to terms with the song I danced to with my mother-in-law.

Great DJ!

David from Expressway Music did a great job dj'ing our wedding. We really had a wide range of guests and he managed to get everybody on the dance floor - from our twenty something cousins to the groom's 85-year-old grandfather to everyone in between. He also played ethnic music like we requested and everyone really enjoyed it. Not only did he listen to what we wanted and didn't want, but he was also able to get the groom's weird requests in. The volume was great all night earning compliments from our guests (it was loud enough to dance to yet guests were still able to have conversations without shouting).

Finally I just want to add how much fun we had; I don’t think we have ever danced that much!

David made my wedding AWESOME!

I was obsessed with planning my wedding. I was so nervous about the DJ after being to so many typical weddings. I wanted someone who could figure out what the crowd wanted while playing music from the 80's and 90's that I love. After googling "awesome 80's dj" and having David and expressway pop up I gave them a call. After one conversation, which was mainly about the movie the wedding singer, I knew I had to book this company. I used them for my ceremony, cocktail hour, and four hour reception. They basically had to be there all day, and their prices were very reasonable for all of their work.

As a bride, you have to be extremely organized. Expressway music immediately sent me an online form to fill out online. This form was heaven for me! We got to pick all the songs for the ceremony, all the entrance songs, first dances, everything....and that form made it super easy as you could click on a button and hear any song you typed in. It just made me know that every detail would be taken care of and I didn't have to worry. Did I mention, his database has every song you could think of!!! Also, we got to pick our do not play and must play songs.

So after emailing all the info and songs we already picked out, we met with David to go over every detail. When we walked into his office we were greeted by these great vinyl records of Madonna and Bowie hung on the wall and I knew we had made the right choice. Everyone in Expressway was great and easy to talk to. The meeting was fun and professional, and I wished we could have talked about music and concerts forever.

So finally the big day came. I had no worries as David and his assistant came early to set up the three different places they would have to be. It helped that David had worked a few weddings there in the past. The ceremony went exactly as planned. Cocktail hour music was great! Then came the party....

Everyone was up dancing. David played a great mix of everything. People were talking about how great my DJ was for months after. My guests wanted the exact playlist of the night cause it was so fun, but we just let David work his magic. David and his company are super nice, fun and just a pleasure to work with.

I think everyone should hire David and Expressway if they want a great DJ with music for everyone and to just have piece of mind that the wedding will go smoothly!

Terrific Job!

We hired David to be the DJ at our wedding (4/23/10). My wife and I wanted a DJ who knew how to put down the microphone and let the music speak for itself; David completely delivered. Where appropriate, he made announcements to the guests about this or that, but it was all about the dancing at our reception. He did a remarkable job mixing genres, creating themes to different portions of the night, and keeping the party going. I had several guests ask me for the exact playlist to the wedding, so that they could repeat it at theirs--there was no set playlist! We gave David some guidance as to our likes and dislikes, and he ran with it. Others asked if he'd travel to the West Coast to do their events. This was a a crowd of different ages, backgrounds, and races, and he provided a great time for everyone. Exceeded expectations.

David runs a classy operation, acting as a facilitator for the fun. We met with him just once beforehand, and found him approachable and very easy to chat with. We exchanged thoughts about likes/dislikes for music, gave him a list of what we'd like to hear, maybe like to hear, definitely not want to hear, and he took it from there. He has an extensive database of music to choose from, and is happy to supplement it with special requests.

I can't imagine the evening having gone better for us, and David is a big reason why.
