The Scene
With 141 well-sized rooms, including standards, doubles, junior suites, queens and suites, this boutique effectively blends modern convenience and design with a warm, old-school vibe. Housed in a restored historic building, the hotel offers attractive common areas, including an excellent bar/lounge and restaurant, and a pleasant, knowledgeable staff. The large framed black-and-whites of old New York and familiar landmarks add to the charm. If Sinatra had needed internet service and a free DVD library, this is where he would have stayed.

Guests enjoy complimentary continental breakfast, unlimited high-speed Internet access and a DVD library. Room amenities include cable TV with DVD player, hair dryers, ironing boards and a safe. We really enjoyed the neighborhood, close to lots of things, restaurants, bars, the train, etc. Really nice room, bigger than what we'd expected. Clean and very comfortable bed. Good service and I'd definitely recommend this place to couples and families.

Out of all the choices for hotels in NYC, the Park South is strongly recommended. It has a lovely lobby and good consistant service. It is not ultra trendy, but not stuffy either. Very clean and very affordable. We paid $225 dollars for room and they upgraded us to a suite "just because it was available" It's not the coolest, but I would return because of the value
