Reasonably priced extravagance.. The Scene
Despite the relatively affordable rates, this hotel is a favorite among the visiting rich and famous. There's one main reason for this: the exemplary service. The property is rated among the best hotels in New York City for its attentive hospitality, and it warmly greets all of its guests like old friends.

The Details
This Upper West Side palace offers myriad comforts you won't find at many equally priced hotels. Rooms are equipped with web TV, Nintendo video games and high-speed Internet access. The fitness center is state-of-the-art. Breakfast is an event, hosted on the rooftop with a million-dollar view. And if that's not enough to keep you pampered, the hotel boasts one of the city's best restaurants. Nice Matin is a French-Mediterranean bistro with a flair for the extravagant.

Escape from Midtown. Spent 3 nights there and really enjoyed the hotel and the location.

Upper Westside is full of families, parks, diners and groceries. One block from the subway.

Rooms are small, but about the same as most NY hotels. All the amenities are there. Great bathroom and water pressure. Service is top notch. A first class hotel without the first class attitude.

Perfect service and tone. If you want to feel like a millionaire but keep within a budget, I cannot recommend the Lucerne enough. I live in New York but am having renovations done on my home and desperately needed a break. On advice from this website, I chose the Lucerne and I couldn't have made a better choice. It felt like a boutique hotel, but very private. Ask for a room with a refrigerator. The place felt upmarket but not snooty. I would stay here again, and I live in this city!

Stay Away, I Hate Competition. This is a hotel that I don't want you to know about. It is in a great Upper Westside location with great shopping, restaurants, ambience in the immediate vicinity. The staff is superb and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. The price is excellent. My only fear is: If everyone knows about The Lucerne, I won't have a place to stay the next time I'm in New York!

Great Honeymoon Location!. My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and the service and location are awesome! Right around the corner from Zabars and the subway. Short walk to Central Park. They gave us an upgrade too. The service and friendly people made these southerners feel like royalty. Just a fantastic location from wonderful restaurants and accessable to everything NYC has to offer.

Comfort, Class,& Value!. Planned last minute trip into manhattan to visit AMNH, have dinner on my birthday, & spend a romantic night away from home.

Checked several westside locations online & phone calls. Chose Lucerne based on their front desk support and service. They go the x-tra mile! You know it right away. You really feel valued as a patron and accomodated completely.

So satisfied stayed an additional nite-enjoyed romantic room, Coppola's restaraunt right across the street (the combination ravioli!!), walking to Central Park, AMNH, & shops on Broadway. The continental breakfast is a class act too.

Parking nearby, families, couples, business, groups--nice mix.

Top of my list for this area from now on. Made my Birthday special. Great experience!!!

Always a pleasure.... My wife and I stayed at the Lucerne for the first time 2 years back after a month in Italy and have returned 2-3 times a year ever since. The rooms are clean and quaint and the location is fantastic, especially during the fall with the changing of the leaves in Central Park. As nice as the accommodations are, they pale in comparison to the quality of the hotel staff. Extremely helpful and friendy, we have never been disappointed.

Impeccable Service, Amazing Banana Bread. When I first came to New York on business, I was living out of hotels for two months. The Lucerne was by far my favorite - nessled in the beautiful and homey Upper West Side, it's right near the Park. The staff is impossibly friendly and always remember and warmly welcome you back on subsequent stays. The rooms are large, particularly by New York standards, and the chairs in the room are so comfy! The banana bread in the continental breakfast is the best I've ever had. Great experience all around!
