The Scene
Decked with disco balls, egg-shaped chairs and holograms, this flagship store is as eye-catching as the offbeat, boldly graphic fashions it sells. Diesel's motto is "for successful living," and with stores in over 82 countries, the company seems to know what it's talking about. Most of the young, hip clientele congregates on the main floor, where revolving floor-to-ceiling shelves display the brand's extensive, pricey selection of jeans. Tongue-in-cheek LCD displays flash tips on how to stay young forever. Upstairs it's more laid-back, with a DJ spinning club beats on weekends.
The Goods
This is eclectic, urban apparel designed to make a statement. Find mesh tops and printed skirts, shoes with lacy frills and skin finishes, and fluorescent-colored sweaters. The pre-shrunk jeans are made in Italy and available in various colors and stages of distress. High-end underwear, red-bottle cologne and space-age pocketbooks add to the mystique.
