Editorial Review for UA Battery Park City 11 – by Steven Boone
The Setting
Regal Cinema's 11-screen Battery Park City multiplex sits on the Hudson River, carved out of an unassuming hunk of concrete that could just as easily house a reserve bank or brokerage firm. Its edge is definitely location, though it also has the amenities of its uptown competitors.
The Experience
The theater offers the works: Advance ticketing facilities, all stadium seating, assisted listening devices for the hearing-impaired, high-back chairs, cupholders, handicapped-accessible auditoriums and digital sound. What distinguishes this one from all the other megaplexes around town? It's unofficial waiting area is Battery Park itself, where, weather permitting, you can take in a thumbnail-sized Statue of Liberty from the Esplanade, watch the Ferries dock or do some reading in the pretty, tranquil surroundings.

For some reason, every time I go to this movie theater, it's not packed to the gills with thugs. It's never even really crowded for that matter. It's clean, the staff is friendly and the facility is exceptional. Maybe a little out of the way depending on where you live, and there's not much to do within walking distance once the movie lets out (especially the later ones) so plan on a cab ride when you're done.
Pros: Never Crowded, Good Movie Selections
Cons: Nothing to do in the

I can't imagine where the few others that gave this theater a bad review are from. I've recently come to the BP area after living various other places throughout the 5 boroughs. This theater is everything you want in a theater in NYC... it's very spacious, UNCROWDED, clean, and very comfortable. I challenge anyone to find all those qualities in another theater in Manhattan. Sure the staff sucks at times, this is NYC!! The staff sucks everywhere! what would a venture out on NYC be without some gratuitous attitude on the parts of the staff?? All jokes aside, I was impressed, and tho I can do without the poor service, I can live with it, as I do most other places in this city.
Pros: Space/Comfort, Uncrowded, Quality Sound/Picture
Cons: Unprofessional Staff, Clueless Staff, Limited Concessions
