great latin cuisine, highly recomended. As a born Dominican, im always looking for the best resturaunts that serve hispanic cuisine-higly recomend the rice and pork- the outside has a divine crunch while the meat almost melts in your mouth! Winning combination!

Surprisingly Great Restaurant in Tourist Central. Cabana is a fun, energetic scene mixing bright red and orange decor with salsa, Jamaican and Caribbean music.

The upscale white linen restaurant is located on the top floor of the iconic Pier 17 shopping mall at New York's South Street Seaport - the best FREE spot for taking in sweeping views of the Brooklyn Bridge, East River and downtown Manhattan skyline.

In warmer months, the glass walls retract to expose diners to the sights, sounds, concerts and crowds flanking the outside tourist area.

The most surprising element of this restaurant, located in a dilapidated mall with barely recognizable stores save Victoria's Secret and Express, was the food. You will have dreams about this food.

Starting off with a pitcher of sangria and a salad - big enough for two and pretty enough for pictures - a couple may sit and just take in the bursting aromas of the freshly seasoned grilled shrimp atop mango, avocado and mixed greens.

Moving on to a sizzling platter - where our grilled steak scent drew envious gasps from nearby tables - we dined on an entree again big enough for two, or three. Accompaniments of rice and beans were (unusually) just the right flavor for this salt-fearing fan of bland.

For a fitting end to a grand meal for this hard-to-impress diner, we shared 3 warm "Cuban brownies" (read: kinda dry cake) topped with homemade coconut ice-cream accompanied by chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a fresh strawberry.

Force yourself to fit this in. What's another lap on the treadmill ... with weights strapped to your hips and back.

With 5 locations in Florida, exotic Queens and Midtown, Cabana offers unpretentious service with a view that's sore to be missed by visitors and locals alike.

My favorite restaurant!!!. After reading some of the reviews in this page, I felt I needed to do something, is so unfair that some first timers write such reviews.

I been going to Cabana Seaport for the past 5 years and every time is a charm. The place, the ambience, the service, and obviously the food. Since you walk in, you feel right at home, everyone treats you so nice and if something goes wrong (lest face it they are humans working there), the staff will go that extra mile to fix the problem or some how make you feel better.

I just wanted to share some information with everyone reading this reviews. If you looking for a really clean place to eat, where you could trust that you having fresh, good quality items, Cabana Seaport is your place. Just give a quick glance at the kitchen when you walk in and will realize that I?m telling the truth.

I really hope you stop by Cabana restaurant and give your self the opportunity to enjoy a good meal, good service and definitely a great time.

Food Made Me Sick!!!. There's always something about a restaurant that banks purely on it's waterfront views, and doesn't spend a whole lot of effort with it's food and service. I'm sure this place has had better days, and perhaps I came in on a REALLY off night. It was early in the week, say a Tuesday or Wednesday, and the place was pretty empty (just a few tables scattered about) The host was clueless at the front, spent more time on the phone then seating the three parties waiting in the foyer. When we were seated, it was in a booth BY THE KITCHEN door! We asked to be moved to table by the windows, which turned into a 15 minute long ordeal, my friend and I were hungry and just decided to stay where we were. Mojitos & Sangria were nothing special. All the appetizers were fried, I like to call this "brown food". No color, nothing exciting, just a bunch of fried options with various brown sauces. I decided to play it safe and just order the Churrasco (skirt steak) for the main course, whereas my friend ordered a seafood paella. My entree was fine (and I hope it would be...its steak...if you messed that up, then they'd TRULY have issues), however, my friends paella was very sparse on the seafood bit. Really, it was like ONE BIG BOWL OF RICE. Disappointing. We left the restaurant not feeling too great...in the tummy. It felt as though the food was just SITTING at the bottom of our stomachs. Needless to say, when we both met up the following week we admitted to getting very sick that evening. Sad, when you pay a rather large bill, only to find it in the toilet a few hours later. I personally won't be going back, food connoisseurs beware....this is not a place for you!
