Tips for The Organic Grill

I have been doing brunch here for years. I am vegan, So it's perfect, the menu is wholly vegan with few exceptions The portions are large and the prices are small. The place to visit.

Comfort food at its best. Their omelettes are to die for. They serve them moist with healthy fillings-peppers, spinach and the best cheeses.

The place has the feel of a classy diner. The service is good-the place is comfortable and their prices surprisingly reasonable.

If you don't go for eggs there are plenty of other healthy choices-salads and sandwiches, plus great soup.

Healthy Food and Affordable. There's no shortage of good restaurants in the East Village but my wife and I found one, that serves Organic Vegetarian Cuisine-The Organic Grill. I love all day breakfast food even at dinner. They serve on of my all time favorites-(hard to find) buckwheat pancakes. The hotcakes were delicious and I also ordered an omelette with Cheddar,Spinach and Green Peppers. The omelette was moist and extremely tasty. Amber prefers more lunch/dinner fare at 5PM. She ordered the miso soup and the tostada salad on whole wheat tortilla. She really enjoyed both as well. The place is always busy but the turnover is pretty quick so you won't wait too long for a table. I found the service very attentive and even though we both only ordered water to drink they came by often to fill our glasses. The restaurant is very clean including the bathroom. The location is in a great neighborhood which is great cuz we both needed a good walk after. We'll definitely be coming here regularly.

Disappointing Food. A friend and I went here for brunch - nothing more fun than visiting the East Village on a hot afternoon - the first thing we ordered were the ginger black iced tea and the white melon iced tea, which were really good. The food, though, was not. The cornbread was cry and tasted more like carrot cake than cornbread. The "over easy" egg was cooked through. The crepes were like rubber, the vegetable stuffing in them completely bland and unseasoned, and the carrot and green pepper dipping sauces just plain weird (and not in a good way!). I had to put ketchup on the crepes to make them taste OK. I will not be coming back.

A good experience at my 1st Organic joint. My bf and I came here for dinner 1 night. We both had a good dinner and were satisfied with our meals. He had the quesadillas and like them. I ordered the potato leek soup (which was a yummy puree) and the millet burger on ezekiel bun with humus dressing. It was good, but needed a bit more flavor, so I used some of his white dressing which made the burger 10x better. My dish came with home fries (not French) which were also yummy. Then we split a Big slice of chocolate cake which tasted great to me (not overly sweetened with too much sugar). I would definitely come back. The waiter was polite too.

Great Food, Great Service, Great Price. I became one of the frequent diner members because I come here so often. The food has always been excellent and the service has always been good. I typically get this one guy server with a lip ring and I've never had any complaints about him. The portions are always a good size and the price is always fair. I guess the only problem is that the place is so small so there might be a wait to get seated. But if you're looking for some healthy eats, check this place out.

Horrible service. The food sounded very yummy but when I got my order my split pea soup was half cooked, still hard. It was pretty bad. I could hardly get the waitress, she was too busy talking to someone behind the counter. She barely paid attention to me.. I had no water, or napkins, it was just bad service.

My main meal was pretty good but for the quality of their staff I would not go there again.

Friendly staff, large portions, real food.. I love the Organic Grill! I've been eating there for a little over a year. It's my go-to spot when I just want a bowl of grains, some yummy sauteed greens, or a nice salad. It's wholesome food with a good vibe. Highly recommended.

Not Worth the Terrible Service. Walked in at 9:40 on a weeknight looking for a quick dinner after having seen a movie. Didn't have the chance. The two women working at the counter told us the place was closed. Disappointed, I asked what time they closed so I would know for next time. We were told 10. My confusion was quickly replaced with annoyance after they admitted what I was beginning to realize--the place was mostly empty and, thus, the kitchen was "closed." In other words, these two wanted to get home early and were turning customers away.

In a city this big with as many options as there are available is it absolutely unforgivable to turn customers away because you want to get home early. Rude beyond belief. I will not return, which is a shame--they have good food. But it's not worth the service.
