Very nice dining experience. This place is very good. We didn't have the oysters but the crabcakes and they were very good. I also had the macadamia milk chocolate meringue torte which was quite tasty. I definitely think that people should try this place out.
Pearl of Grand Central. Although there's the occasional bad oyster, this is one of my favorite restaurants. Every time I go there I feast on the slippery delicacies which on their tray are presented like a rough natural sculpture of ice, rock and mermaids. I guess one day I'll try some of the other offerings, but I'm happily stuck in my ways with their oysters. The Oyster Bar is one of the best places for oyster anywhere.
A pearl in the rough!. I love stopping in after work to have an oyster or 6 and a beer. The service can be rushed, especially during lunch but the old New York feel of the place more than makes up for that. You can almost forget that your eating inside a noisy, hectic train station.
For Oyster Mavens and lovers of Sea Food. From 100 varities of Oysters, to a super fresh array of fish, to wicked chowder, mezmerizing pan roast, Oyster Stew, it's to Die for. And all the while we eat in a New York City Landmark as cool as they come!
the best oysters. if you are a oysters lover ,this is the place . Very goog food. very fresh . crowded
It's Gold Your name here Gold!. If you really love Oysters, and not just a dozen or so, but really 60 or 70 different varieties then Oyster Bar in GCT is the place for you. Plus they have amazing seafood, and a great line up of beers. If only they were open on the weekend!
best of the best. I love oysters and the oyster bar in GCT is the best restaurant to get them in the Tri State area. So many varities to choose, as fresh as they come. Then I have some port and some carrot cake.
Among NYC's best. Forget about the 100 varieties of Oysters, the monstrous fish selection, and the awe inspiring menu, and forget that your in one of the last of NYC's golden era restaurants. Now, try the Steak, the chocolate cake, the chowda for Pete's sake. This place ROCKS! I could eat here 7 days a week.
Fantastic sea food. This place was unbelievable - from the HUGE choice of food and wines to the incredibly knowledgable waiter. It's a bit on the expensive side but if you're up for superb seafood in a pleasant (if not too plush) surroundings then this is the place.
