Kittichai ......LOVE IT!. The food is awesome here, however I feel like the evening menu truly has all the "Good Stuff". The beef tartar is awesome and their chocolate covered ribs (don't get scared) are FAB! Totally love it.
Horrible Experience. This bar is a reminder of why I left New York and couldn't be happier about that. If it weren't for my present company, the night would have been a complete loss. The drinks are very good, but they should be for $14 a drink. The hostess couldn't have been any ruder and let us know immediately that we were lucky to be allowed to spend our money there. We were moved 3 times from unreserved tables and even had our chairs taken from under us and added to reserved tables from which they were never a part. We easily spend 5xs as much as the people who took our tables, since they were there for 30 minutes each having a glass of wine or seltzer. Doesn't seem like a good business model to me. The majority of the crowd was old and weird as well. This place could be fun if you don't intend to sit and just want to be there for a quick drink. I would never go there again.
Great Meal!. I have been to this place a few times and each time the food and experence has been consistly great. Food is fresh and increditably tasty. Drinks are delious and it is great for groups and business dinning. This place is worth the $$.
Fabulous location for a 'sceney' dinner with great ambiance and good food. My husband took me here for a celebration dinner and it was fabulous. Tip for the top ladies, dress up as if your life depends upon it! The decor and design of the restaurant is beautiful and the service in the restaurant itself was pretty good (though they do that irritating clear your partners plate before you are both done, which drives me insane!). We started with drinks at the bar, the cucumber and kiwi cocktail was out of this world, the bar tender who served us had zero service skills, no please or thank you, kept us waiting for 10 minutes. Once past the retarded bar tender, the food was amazing, we had Tuna Tartare and carpaccio starter, the tuna was served in miniature pastry cups with almonds and a spicy sauce - sounds disgusting but it was amazing! For mains we had the Hake (very subtle flavor - almost too subtle) and the chicken which were both really good. This place is extremely glamorous and the clientele reflects this. If you really like your date, treat them to dinner here!
Very good thai food. A party of 5 decided to go. The decor is very nice and we had to make reservations in advance. Getting the tasting menu (60 a person, and you get all the dishes listed, about 14), we were warned, it's a LOT of food. It was. 1st course was the chicken and coconut relish on rice crackers. Lots of flavor. The fish cakes were good too. the hamachi sashimi was very buttery and melted in your mouth. next was the banana blossom, chocolate babyback ribs, and beef salad. The beef salad was good, and the banana blossom had a good acidity to it. both were cold dishes and very tasty. The coco ribs I liked but I personally prefer the ones from sapa which had more of a sweetness to it. These were more savory and a hint of that coco bitterness that I'm not too keen on. Others in my party disagree but it comes down to a matter of taste. third was tiger prawn, sea bass, and gai-lan. Sea bass was a bit on the done side, but very tasty. The glaze had a crisp and sweet. Tiger prawn was great and came with yellow watermelon. It took on a totally different and better flavor when eaten together. Gai-lan was good but standard for me as I cook and eat it often. Fourth was pineapple green curry short ribs, chicken with long beans, and morning glory. The morning glory was full of flavor but on the salty side. It was great over a bowl of rice. Short ribs were great but a bit on the dry side. Smaller pieces instead of huge chunks would have been better I think, The chicken was good too. The spices used were great. For dessert the chocolate cake was so moist it melted in your mouth. The banana spring rolls were great with the ice cream. The banana held up pretty well and it wasn't oily at all like some other places i've had it. Overall, it was pricey, as we each had about 2 drinks, coming out to 112 a person after everything. We left completely stuffed though. When we left, we still had enough that it provided 4 of us a decent sized lunch too.
Not worth the hype. My friends and I went to Kittichai a few weeks ago for a mid-week "Girl's Night". The decor was beautiful and we were seated promptly. However, despite the over-the-top presentation of some dishes, the food was just ok. Many of the dishes were uninspiring and in some cases, over done. The chocolate baby back ribs tasted like the chef literally just poured some hershey's syrup over them and served it. Chocolate can also be savory and I thought he would go that route, but apparently not. We ordered the side of Asian Mixed Vegetables and the side of Tofu and it turned out they were virtually the same dish - both with tofu and vegetables despite being described differently. The only difference was the color of the sauce. They tasted identical. The Baked Chilean Sea Bass came with some sort of reduction or glaze over it which was far too sweet. It was sticky, sweet and salty. I reached for my water immediately. For a restaurant that likes to tout itself as having a notable chef, the food was definitely not notable. I do not normally write reviews, but for a restaurant to charge such prices and have such rave reviews is mind-boggling. Don't bother going here unless you happen to like eating subpar food in a lovely setting.
Great lounge downtown. This lounge is great. Good music and good drinks. The mixologist there made the most amazing cocktail. It's definitely for the 30+ demographic in New York who want to look good and chat with friends while enjoying the ambience and drinks. Great locale for a celebration with 5-10 friends.

Very stylish and savvy atmosphere. Went with a few girlfriends on a Thursdays night and had a great time. We ordered a bunch of appetizers. The seabass tempura, banana blossom and artichoke salad and the yellowfin tuna noodles were all amazing. We had about 4 or 5 cocktails each which were absolutely yummy!
