worst bikini wax of my entire life. I felt compelled to write my first online review of a business in manhattan based on my experience earlier today. The bikini wax I received took 20 minutes to perform where it should have taken 5 minutes if the person knew what they were doing. Given that the process took such a period of time one would assume it to be thorough... I had to spend even longer once I got home removing wax from myself and attempting to finish the terrible job myself with my razor. I guess I won't be wearing my bathing suit this weekend after all - NOT recommended.
Worst Manicure Ever - You can do a better job at home. Worst manicure ever. Rushed and the technician was on the phone for part of the time. Hardly touched cuticles. Did a horrible job on the polish - it was all over my cuticles and came off the same evening. got a massage which was also awful and a complete waste of money. the woman did not listen to me and was motioning and takling to other people the entire time.
Awful. I gave Cleo a shot 6 times- the service continued to get worse with each visit. My last visit was simply unbelievable. Halfway through my mani & pedi - I politely asked them to stop and give me a refund. They wouldn't refund my money and they sent me away with the worst half completed mani/pedi imaginable. A few days later, I went to another salon to have them correct the problems Cleo created and they commented on how terrible & crooked my fingernails & toenails looked. They were so astonished that they walked me around their salon to show everyone how bad my hands/ feet looked. My toenails had been cut to the quick, my nails were lopsided and you couldn't tell that they had supposedly try to cut my cuticles. Stay away from this place folks.... I can not stress this enough!!!! Save your money and go elsewhere.
Life, liberty and the pursuit of a cheap
mani-pedi--after hours..
The Nitty-Gritty
Arts and culture and the unlimited MetroCard are all very nice reminders of why we continue to live in New York, but where would we be without the cheap nail joint--the grooming addict's Starbucks--where hordes of city ladies flock for a coat of Essie's Ballet Slippers and a fast neck massage? Cleo more than rises to the task, with a twist: They are open until midnight. No longer must insomniac Gramercy residents paint their own nails in the dark!
The Nails
The vibe is fast and usually quite friendly. Manicures ($7) and pedicures ($21) last longer than other in-and-out spots, and a few upscale touches--massage chairs with remote controls and lemon halves in the foot basin for pedis, plus a wide array of OPI polishes--belie Cleo's no-frills look. Want more? There's the mysteriously named "special pedicure" for $30, or you can head a few doors down to Cleo II, where the prices are a bit higher, probably due to the Carmela Soprano decor.
need a manicure at 10PM?. Nothing beats the hours this place is open! I work late and love that I can get a manicure on my way home. I find this place to be a good value - both the manicures and pedicures are good, last a long time, and are reasonably priced.
JUST DONT GO. Okay this place was awful. Need I say more? hhhhmmm...yes. Sat down with a friend at the same time and was done abt half hour later than her. She killed my cuticles, shaped my nails horribly and my polish was off in one day. This was by far the WORST experience I have ever had. So what they are open until 11? They are AWFUL!
