The Scene – Abundant red neon signage and plenty of vertically suspended salamis compete for visual attention at Tal Bagel, a popular Upper East Side spot that serves some of the best bagels in the city. The restaurant is frequently a circus of activity on weekend mornings and is especially popular with families. An eager team of Bangladeshis fills orders behind the counter. – – The Food – Bagels from Tal have a great chewy texture, with an overall mass somewhere between those from H&H and Ess-a-Bagel. really good bagels. even a brit can tell that
by gmorient1
I'm a Brit so what do i know about Bagels. I just walk past this place on the way to get my Sunday Times from a news agent across the street. This place looked busy and now I know why. I just bought some bagels to take home with me and they are definitely the best I've had. Normally I'd toast but no ned, they were still warm and absolutely fresh. Next Sunday I'm gonna eat in and try the smoked fish which looks really good.
Very tasty

I had a sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese and my boyfriend had a raisin bagel. We both loved our on-the-go lunch. They don't need to be toasted because they were nice and crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Much, much better than H&H Bagels.
A good bagel

Good bagels and good cream cheese. None of that yucky whipped stuff. But they don't have a toaster, which is strange.
