“The Eighth Ave location is the best place to eat bagels in the city.”
“Murry's gets the edge because it tastes great (like a real bagel), has friendly quick service, and has a lot more to offer--ambience, other food and desserts, and beverages (decent coffee).”
“found the coffee pretty good, clean store, great service.”

“Bagels outside of NY are horrible so people HAVE to toast them to eat them.”
“Also a little more expensive than your average bagel place.”

managers are stupid.
the bagel are ok, the only thing i don't like is than, there are 2 person in the store, one is a girl and the other one is a guy with mustache. ''ARE MANAGER'' both of them have awful attitude, they think costumers don't understand spanish ,anyway.
but there are 2 guys in the store who i think are the best, they are fast, there are both tall, one of them wear glasses .
Great Place for bagel lunch. When it's not to busy- Great place to sit and enjoy late breakfast or lunch. Whitefish, Tuna, Tofu Spread, all great on their fresh bagels.
Solid Bagel. I love the whole everything bagel at murrays --- it is so good you do not even need to add cream cheese! Keep it simple at Murray's, and don't ask for them to toast your bagel -- enjoy it fresh!
Decent food, bad service. I agree with the previous reviewer, except I think the food's fine. I'd eat here regularly, in fact, except for the sneering, jockeying staff. It's like they decided to gather for an impromptu party, which involves flirting with each other, telling inside jokes, and having a general blast, and who cares about all the irritated customers? Every time I've been to Murray's, it's ruined a perfectly lovely Sunday afternoon.
Over blown bagels and BAD SERVICE.
The bagels are okay. They make them extra big and burn them so you think they have the crisp exterior trademark of a good bagel (for those new to the authentic bagel experience, they should have a crisp exterior with a dense chewy interior)
The worst feature of Murray's on 6th is the AWFUL SERVICE. I've gone there three days a week for 6 weeks and got what I ordered only twice. The last time, the man even unwrapped the bagel to look at it and still it was wrong! They ask for your order minimum of 3 times and have asked me up to 6 times from the time I first placed my order until I arrived at the cashier and still couldn't get it right.
If you are really hankering for a truly good bagel then take some time and meander over to Hudson and Christopher to HUDSON BAGELS. Those are excellent bagels (and the service is great)
LOVE IT !!!!!.
I love the bagels, I can't stop sinking my teeth in them. I found the coffee pretty good, clean store, great service. Everyone was so nice to me. But the only thing that turns me off is where are the Americans, I will gladly pay extra to put an American to work.
P.S.
I will love to meet the person(s) who makes these lovely bagels.
Best Bagels around. Went there today for a dozen bagels, finally a decent bagel! Staff was great, selection terrific and the bagels are delicious! Bravo!
Terrible Coffee. I came here just for coffee to go and waaaay too much milk was added- by the time I was few blocks away and took the first sip it was cold & cup filled halfway with milk. Decided to give it a second try for coffee to go and this time they started to pour gallons of milk in the cup but I greatly exaggerated to go easy on the milk side. By the time I was a few blocks away noticed the milk was CURDLED and spoiled. They should allow you to dress your own & would most likely have solved those problems.
Decent bagel. There was a bit of a line when I went on Saturday around noon(approx 10 customers in front of me), but the staff is fairly efficient. I got a multi-grain bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese for $2.95. The cream cheese was good. The bagel was ok.
The only bagels I'll eat.. The Eighth Ave location is the best place to eat bagels in the city. 1) Ignore what the unscrubbed masses might think: idiosyncracy (i.e. refusing to toast bagels) is a GOOD thing. 2) Boys boys boys boys boys. The Chelsea parade makes for great reverse window shopping. 3) Great bagels. Guess what? The bagels are just the right combination of crispy and chewy and warm and wait that glob of lox spread is about to drop on the floor so let me shut up for a second and grab it with my mouth before it falls. Mmmmpph. 4) The staff are a little soup-nahtzi-ish, but in a good way. 5) See you there.
