The Scene – Seasonal ales and tasty classic microbrews are poured at the spit-shined bars of this midtown tourist magnet. Since the average wait for a table equals one beer--if not two, without reservations--there's plenty of time to sample the pale, smooth Harvest Wheat with a slice of lemon or the tawny Red Rooster with a frothy head. Table service is speedy, but doesn't encourage lingering. – – The Food – The menu, like much of the crowd, hails from America's heartland. For apps, try the cheeses paired with house beers, the blue-cheese nachos or creamy spinach dip.…

  1. The bar scene at the Chop House is great, it's a little more upscale then the other Heartlands which is fun since we are all dressed up when we come from work.
  2. Overall, the atmosphere is average, the service poor, and with food, the chicken is the best.

Disappointed

by Maxwell22 at Citysearch

After reading many good reviews, we were so disappointed with our dining experience at Heartland Brewery. We were seated in the back room which was nice and private, only a few other tables. Our waiter was just wonderful but it was downhill from there. We ordered the calamari which was like chewing rubber bands, we also ordered the New England Clam Chowder which was good. My husband took advantage of the three course dinner which he ordered a steak smothered with mushrooms and onions. Was more like diner quality. I ordered a NY strip steak and our waiter asked if I wanted the Angus NY Strip for a few dollars more, I said yes. Well the steak was very small and very tough. We also ordered asparagus which was baked with Parmesan cheese, the cheese was overcooked and dry. Everything is Ala Carte and the bill adds up fast. we spent well over $100.00 plus tip for a dinner that was way below par. Other than that, the restaurant is very nicely decorated, rest rooms were very nice and clean, however, we will not go back.

Enticing Gourmet Beer

by Mark Beattie at Citysearch

Heartland Brewery is home to a countless number of enticing gourmet combining flavors that you probably wouldnt see in everyday beer flavours. Combining fruits for excellent lambics, with award winning stouts and ales. Even a Pilsner worth talking about. A strong recomendation for beer enthusiasts.

I also came here a few weeks ago with some friends for a birthday dinner!! The service was exceptional and I felt like our waiter was only serving us. He was very helpful with the menu and explaining exactly what each dish consisted of. He also recommended some great cocktails made by TY KU for us, which were absolutely amazing!! Can't wait to return and eat here again!
