A Transporting Experience
by DrMusi
It was our anniversary, so I needed to get it right. Thankfully, the boys at Trio made it easy for me. The well spaced tables inspired intimacy, the piano man lightly tickling the ivories provided a slice of something different, and the soft candlelight set the stage for romance. But if the food fell short, all would be lost....
There were no disappointments. The martini shrimp app had five big ones, whose smoky flavor was balanced by the cilantro zip of the sauce. The rib eye, served with mushrooms & French greens, was a far better cut than I had expected to find at a non-steakhouse; while the seafood ravioli made milady coo and smile. Our warmed creme brulee dessert never had a chance. I had to sit on my hands to be fair and share.
It earns four from us because, though the experience was transporting, the wine list was a bit slim and the waiter service a bit spotty. All in all, Trio serves up a great night out. We will certainly be back.
- Pros: culinary delights, ambiance, privacy, live piano
- Cons: slim wine list, spotty service
Great Ambience and Food
by noak11
This was an excellent evening out. We went on a Saturday night and they had a piano player set up in their beautiful dining room. The menu had a lot of great choices and nothing was too expensive. 4 of us went, we ordered Shrimp & Cavatelli, Grilled Filet Mignon, Trio Penne, and Beef Ravioli in Bleu Cheese Alfredo. All of us cleaned our plates! I strongly recommend it. We also used a coupon from a Restaurant coupon website which lowered our bill, making it quite a steal.
- Pros: Romantic, Great Value, Live Piano
a fantastic, romantic restaurant
by sweetlauren
My boyfriend and I went to Trio to celebrate his birthday. From the moment we walked in we were impressed, and we eat out pretty often. We were greeted warmly by Kenny, the maitre'd, and immediately shown to a table. The waiter came right away and was knowledgeable about the menu items. The lighting was soft and romantic and the piano playing added a nice touch. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon which was delicious and I ordered the cracked pepper chicken which was also fantastic- very soft and buttery. As we were leaving one of the owners came over and asked if everything had been okay- the personal touch is definitely a unique characteristic of this wonderful restaurant. We had a great evening and plan to go back again soon.
