WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN

by Bunnie0509 at Citysearch

i WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN

Went there yesterday with my boyfriend before catching a movie at Time Sq. The food was decent, but the service left such a bad taste in my mouth that I feel like I should have just gone to Applebee's, never had a problem with service there!

We ordered the Calamari, Tuna Burger and Santa Fe Salmon. I also got an apple martini. Again, food was OK.

We got a coupon from restaurant, com that says you have to order $50 worth of food in order to use the coupon of $25. I have gone to many restaurants with the restaurant, com coupon and never had an issue.

The waitress never told us that we were not hitting the $50, and not to mention that we were short by 5 CENTS on FOOD (not including the martini) at the end of the meal.

Total bill came to $59.95, drink was $10 so we were short of the FOOD portion by 5 CENTS. We were trying to make a 9 pm movie and we were running late. We were also very full, so when we said that we did not want dessert, that is when the waitress told us that we are short.

When I asked to see the bill, I realizes that technically we were 5 CENTS short. I asked to speak to the manager, I told him that we were trying to make a movie and that technically our bill is more than $50 but the FOOD portion was short 5 Cents. He insisted that there is nothing that he can do and that the program requires $50 worth of FOOD ONLY and that the "COMPUTER" won't let him do anything. He said that "We participate in the program so that we give you out of our own pockets if you spend $50 on food." BUDDY, you are not giving me no $25, I paid for that coupon and if your restaurant does not want to participate in restaurant, com then talk to your boss and get out of it. We were then FORCED to order a dessert to cover our 5 CENTS short.

I am a manager and run a store myself, that is a bunch of BS saying that you don't have the ability to adjust 5 CENTS. We even said that we can give him the extra 5 CENTS or just make one of our meals 5 cents more. He obviously just did not care about his business and to go back and forth with a customer over 5 CENTS and erase any chance of me or any of my friends going back there ever again demonstrates such short sight.

GREAT JOB MANAGER....NOT! I hope you get a raise in the new year. I pity whoever hired you. And you cost your waitress all her tip.

  • Pros: OK food
  • Cons: Horrible service

Don't Swim to Salmon River - Sprint Away

by kmrny at Citysearch

The food may have been good if served hot and if recorded accurately by the serving staff; however, neither was the case. I used to live close enough to NYC that I would eat there often - ok, now I live in Chicago and was in town visiting my daughter for Thanksgiving. We went to Salmon River for dinner and brought guests, important guests! Our table had to be moved, reluctantly by the staff, from the vicinity of the drinking lounge as a patron was so loud and so foul mouthed that we were embarrassed. Our server was slow, recorded the order inaccurately, served one wrong salad, and brought entrees out that were warm, at best, certainly not hot!. This added to the fact that our server and her friend stood chatting and NOT paying attention to our modest needs for the duration of our meal. Praises are plentiful in the reviews, but don't say I didn't warn you!

  • Cons: loud bar adjacent to dining room, horrific service
5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended
